The Garrick Coffee Shop - Lichfield

We are regular visitors to the Garrick and usually get drink and or cakes. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Staff nice but expensive for the type of food you get, fine if going to the theater and want a drink , pre order your drink before you go into the play as it can get real busy at the break,

I haven't been to this coffee shops for some time as it has changed hands and I just forgot to go back there. I stopped for a light lunch and pot of coffee and the current owner seemed very keen to please and get my...order of Eggs Benedict exactly right. I think they hadn't been doing it for very long and asked me exactly how I liked the eggs and muffins etc. They were very courteous even to a very noisy family who were there and driving everyone else mad! On leaving, everyone was made to feel special and would have not qualms about returning. It was refreshing to be served by someone who was enjoying his new venture and wanted to make everyone feel special as a customer. I will certainly start using it again on my frequent visits to Lichfield. Well done new owners.

Went into the Garrick café yesterday on the spur of the moment and was pleasantly surprised!-It is only a small café but the food full breakfast and coffee) was excellent breakfasts and cafetiere of coffee value I read the other reviews-either they...went into a different café or they are very old!! They are definitely not the place we were in We only visit Lichfield once or twice a year-but in future I can see it being every six weeks-and we will certainly be visiting The Garrick Café when we visit again

It was busy in Lichfield and a couple of our usual places to eat were busy, we had walked past here on several occasions and decided to give the place a try- what we should have done is kept on going We walked in and...sat down, staff were very uninterested despite only ourselves and one other couple in the place. We looked at the menu, both of us were seated in a position that we could see into the kitchen area (not on purpose to spy it just so happened that was how we sat) one person was at the counter, another woman was washing up and putting the cutlery away. That was when we saw the woman washing up drop two knives and a fork on the floor, casually pick them up and put them away with the rest of the cleaned items. At that point we both looked at eachother and decided to leave, if an establishment can't supply clean eating utensils (or care enough to) then what will the rest of the place be like (including the food Staff didn't even bother to ask why we were leaving clearly either not at all bothered about their trade to care or it's so regular that they are used to it.
