The Barn - Lichfield
The Barn
Description
Nestled in a charming location, The Barn at Swinfen offers a mixed dining experience. While some patrons appreciate the friendly service and generous portions, particularly during breakfast and lunch, others have encountered delays and disappointing quality, especially with their afternoon tea. The ambiance is inviting, enhanced by outdoor seating, yet overcrowding has caused logistical issues for larger groups. Many visitors praised the attentive staff and various gluten-free options, while a few found the value lacking in terms of food quality. Overall, this eatery is an enticing choice for casual meals but may require improvements for special occasions.

Visited today with a friend. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, would definitely recommend and will be back soon!
Met up with a friend for brunch. Surroundings, service and quality of food are 5*. Nice big car park. Superb eggs benedict royale try it.
Bring a book, puzzles, a Sudoku, 1000 piece jigsaw or maybe a long game of Monopoly to enjoy as you wait forever for a club sandwich. Waitress seemed far more interested in another couple, who kept distracting the staff and who arrived after us but received their food before us, because our order takes longer to cook . You mean you bumped our order to feed your friends first. First and last visit. £25 for 2 sandwiches and 2 sodas.
My family and I came to this restaurant for a special occasion. There were 9 of us and we had pre-ordered the cream tea. The cafe was crowded and cramped, and we had to wait 45 minutes before our food arrived. I was disappointed with the quality of the cream tea, especially considering it cost £20 per person. The cakes were not very impressive - the Lemon Cake was bland, the millionaire shortbread Square had a strong coffee flavor, and the chocolate cake was unappetizing. The presentation of the cream tea was sloppy and lacking. The ciabatta slices were tasty and the scones were nice but on the smaller side. We had to constantly get up from our seats to let other customers pass by, and the table behind us had to do the same. We were only given one small bottle of milk for the 9 of us and had to keep asking for more milk and sugar. The sugar pots were small and only had a few sugar cubes in them. It seemed like the restaurant couldn't handle the number of customers they had. It would have been better if there was a cafetiere for unlimited coffee instead of waiting for our cups to be refilled. Overall, I didn't feel like it was worth the money we paid, the atmosphere felt rushed, and we couldn't fully enjoy our meal. We won't be coming back as there are better places that offer nicer cream teas.
Visit the Farm shopping centre for our dog to be groomed. Have passed The Barn many times and decided to have an impromptu brunch. The welcome was warm, very attentive staff, the food was fantastic, highly recommend the English Breakfast served in a muffin!! Lovely venue and reasonably priced!!
