Have been visiting for years but it has changed hands and sadly it was just not as good this time. The food was fine but very slow to arrive about an hour and we were the only diners there at this point. The sauces arrived 10 minutes after the meal. The service was friendly but some of the staff have clearly had no training leaning right over you to pass plates to other diners. It is a beautiful venue but was also freezing cold. The music was also really loud and a weird 90's mix. There is a lack of attention to detail. There was a delivery in the middle of the bar area when we arrived and it was still there when we left. It no longer feels like a good restaurant but rather an average to fair pub but the prices don't reflect this downgrade in standards.

Following a family bereavement, I called to see if they would honour a gift voucher which had expired by a couple of weeks. The lady I spoke with showed no sympathy, and refused to honour it.

My family and I came to this restaurant on Sunday for my sister-in-law's baby shower. We had a reservation for a table of 18 and had all chosen our meals in advance. However, when we arrived at 1pm, we were informed that they had to serve a few tables before us. It turned out that they were actually serving anyone who walked in that afternoon before us. We ended up waiting over two hours for our food to arrive. Some of us didn't receive Yorkshire puddings with our roast because they had run out, and one member of our party didn't even get her meal because it was also out of stock. They didn't inform her until after the rest of us had been served, leaving her waiting while everyone else ate. When we questioned the staff about this, they rudely stated that walk-ins were a priority and they couldn't turn them away. Despite having pre-booked our meals, we did not receive the priority service we expected. This experience was incredibly disappointing and the service was terrible. I would not recommend this place for a party.

It’s a shame that what was a really good (if on the pricey side) restaurant with great steaks and superb fish dishes to mention some of the dishes, is now a very average Indian restaurant. Saturday night and we were dining alone. Staff were good chicken was well cooked and moist but overwhelming flavour of my dish was oil with a bitter after taste! Lichfield has some really good Indian restaurants with a much better choice of dishes and I can’t see this one lasting long once people realise it’s no longer McKenzies. It’s actually now called Heritage bar and grill but website has not been updated from McKenzies time.

We had our intimate wedding reception at The Loft area of the restaurant. We were so impressed by how the staff presented the truly unique area. Crisp white table cloths adorned the table with matching chair covers. Beautiful flowers decorated the tables and arch areas, it looked truly amazing! Such a unique and stunning place! The management and team are so thorough, thoughtful and attentive. They so aim to please with a ready smile. Such a credit to the establishment. Drinks on arrival and then through the flower arch to the seating area. All three courses were delicious. Everyone enjoyed each course. Big thumbs up to the chef. The food was presented perfectly. They really catered to our requirements. Would certainly recommend this beautiful venue for a gathering. You will not be disappointed. Made our wedding day so very memorable. Thankyou amazing team, from Mike and Debra
