Wife I stayed over the recent Labor Day weekend. Lecrystal Shannon at breakfast buffet were very friendly helpful every morning. The pool was warmest we ever felt as well as clear water. The giant TV by the pool was great to watch college football while enjoying pool area. The golf course one of the best maintained we’ve played and we had under 4 hour rounds. The remodeled room was clean comfortable. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Griffin Gate Marriott Resort J W's Steakhouse:
The outdoor pool and hot tub were amazing and Miguel, who seemed to be everywhere doing everything was awesome! But overall was mediocre. From not having enough towels in the room for the number of people on the reservation to no towels at the pool (both days to only one working ice machine (we were told to check all the floors to broken bedside lampshade attachwd with duct tape to the outdoor snack bar being closed... This review is only based upon the conference center role as lodged elsewhere. The conference center was very easy to use and accessible. The grounds were gorgeous and they had a bourbon vending machine which makes any conference fascinating. Best way to spend lunch is vend a double and watch the wind sculpture.Major issues with this venue and the decreased room score applies to the conference rooms. The AC was obviously not strong enough to handle the number of people and the weather outside. The other issue is the lack of parking. So this venue is obviously better suited for a smaller gathering than it was (700ish).Walkability: Very walkable space and grounds.
I absolutely love this hotel. Food is delicious and the service is excellent. We stayed and used indoor and outdoor pools and ate all our meals here. We will be back.Rooms: 5/5
Our 4-man friend group decided to take a trip this past weekend to Lexington to visit some distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and we booked a 2 night stay at the Griffin Gate. Upon arrival, there was an hour-long delay because they did not book adjoining rooms as we had reserved 2 months prior, the rooms instead were separated by several floors. Ultimately, this was resolved, as the resort comp'd our breakfast the following morning and accommodated us with a third room all on the same floor. The rooms were clean and looked very nice. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and well-maintained. We did not visit the golf course, but admired it from the edge of the hotel grounds, it looked expertly maintained as well. The outdoor and indoor pools were excellent. The outdoor pool was where most of the children seemed to congregate, the indoor pool was mostly vacant during our stay, which was perfect for four adults looking to escape our children for the weekend. We ate lunch and breakfast at the restaurant inside the resort, the fried chicken sandwich was absolutely FANTASTIC and the breakfast buffet was filled with standard breakfast fare, the waffles and sausage were particularly amazing. Overall, this is a great resort at an amazing value. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a great place to stay in Lexington.
Was an awesome stay, rooms was very clean and Juana from room service did an excellent job keeping fresh towels stocked up for us, bed made, etc. But the all star of my stay was Abbey at the restaurant bar. She recommended the burger which was large and awesome along with beverages, she was very attentive, detail oriented, knowledgeable and friendly. I wish everyone that worked at the Marriott were like this and very well informed. The free bourbon tastings from 4-6 was a cool thing I have never experienced before.Food drinks: Again Abbey rocked recommended wings for one of our group that was delicious, a burger for me, multiple types of cocktails. I hope the Marriott takes care of their staff and employees like her.
I’ve been here for 4 nights. I would like to give more stars but there are few things that should change or customers need to know. This is a resort that will host events…. The events are in a tent right beside the hotel. It’s 10:55pm as I type and the music is so loud here on the 2nd floor. There is no sleeping going on here. We have to be up early for a day of travel and my daughter can not sleep, there is no sound machine to drown out that sound of drums and base, the sound is so loud you can hear the song not just the base. Then you have the crowd screaming. They should build a building for their events and not have them in a tent 15 feet by their hotel. The pool floor is painted and it’s peeling off and it feels slimy when it hits your leg, there is some mold and repairs that are needed. The indoor pool area is large and nice but the bottom of their pool is discolored and dirty looking. The tall lady that checked us in was not friendly at all. On a positive note, the location was great and the restaurant staff and bar area were amazing!! Great service super friendly remember you every time, they were just magnificent. The breakfast buffet was nice. Rooms were clean and user friendly. Everyone else is was nice as well. Shannon that works the breakfast is amazing. She is phenomenal at her job. What an amazing person.
