Hands down some of the best salsa I had this year. Her fried beans were also disgusting, but her rice fell a bit flat and hit this visit. Your drinks were a little small and watered for what I would have paid, I would have known before. However, their burritos and chicken were grilled to perfection and I found myself almost too fast to eat to really judge my meal! Take your time and really enjoy this place. If they c... What User doesn't like about El Espolón Mexican:
This was possibly the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in a long time. The restaurant was about half full but had two parties (of 12 and 20 and the staff could not handle it. You’d think on cinco de mayo they’d have staff ready for a big night and they weren’t even prepared for a slowish night. We didn’t really have a server, had to go to the bar to order. We ordered fajitas and it was just not very much food, an... View all feedback.

If they can bring their rice to the par, and maybe they can't overload their drinks with ice, I'm happy to give five stars!
We love local food and hope they thrive. We went during taco week at lunchtime during a weekday. They had the music (tuned to a rap channel too loud in my opinion for such a small and echo-y place (WHY do people do this? The food took around 25 minutes. Lucky for me I had good company and flexible lunch plans. I must be honest that the tacos were pretty bad. They were sparsely filled and had dry chicken and the salsas were unremarkable. The tortillas fell apart in my hand, but they had doubled up on them so I managed. The restaurant and restrooms were all very clean and well maintained. Parking was easy at 11:50 AM.
Showed up at 9 and the doors were locked. The sign clearly says they close at 10. The bar tender avoided eye contact when we came to the door and didn’t even offer an explanation for why the door was locked. She just left us outside. This was our first time trying this place and we won’t try again.
