The equipment had handles that kept falling of... read more This bar is run pretty poorly. The bartender had to constantly run downstairs to get drinks that weren't stocked. The equipment had handles that kept falling off (it looked like they were just missing screws which would be an easy fix). The drawer they use to store the produce for drinks had mold on the inside like it hadn't been wiped with cleaner in a long time. The bartender Annie was fantastic! She had a great attitude and held conversations with customers while she was constantly making drinks. She is a hard worker and would be a great asset to any bar. However the bar manager Megan was very unpleasant to deal with. Even the couple seated nearby made a comment when she walked away. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what.

The Kentucky Derby cake was in... read more I know everyone usually goes there for drinks, but since I wasn't drinking and had already eaten, I decided to just have dessert. The Kentucky Derby cake was incredible. I got a generous slice (thanks to whoever cut my portion!). While Derby pie outside of Kentucky isn’t quite the same, this cake definitely ranks in my Top 5. When we left, we got to sit outside, which was lovely next to Triangle Park. The only downside was the service. There were only about three other guests in the restaurant when we were there, yet the wait time for our dessert and drinks was quite long. We also didn't receive any water refills, and the server rushed over to collect the check as if it was the only thing on his agenda. That was the fastest we saw him move all evening. Despite that, I would definitely return to try another dessert—and perhaps enjoy a drink next time.
