There's no point in making the journey to this restaurant as it has shut down. It is currently being leased out again, so hopefully a new restaurant will take its place soon. But for now, there is nothing here. View all feedback.
With the other branch of this small chain of tapas restaurants, 'temporarily closed ' we thought we would give this one a try. Quite different to the one we were used to, all the dishes were a pleasant surprise. Tops was probably the patatas bravas, freshly cooked, hot crisp and very tasty with fine dip in sauce. The tortilla was a bit meagre but extremely good as was the marinated chicken. Wan 't sure about the ham croquettes but the meatballs were excellent. Nicely designed eatery with busy atmosphere despite the odd location as part of a new housing development, off Blackheath Hill in Deptford and we will be back. Particularly impressed by the fact we were allowed to pour our own wine, the waitress simply opened it for us and also that at the end we were given complimentary drinks and ice cream. Always welcome and a nice touch to round off our first visit. Thank you.
Exploring our local area we tried this tapas place on a Saturday night and were left feeling really underwhelmed and regretting our decision to eat there.Perhaps we should have read the warning signs when we were told the selection of Ibericos and cheeses was some ham, some sausage and cheddar . It wasn 't cheddar (as we suspected), but it was not just the one cheese and no bread was provided. It would not be too hard to replicate this fare from the Tesco a minute 's walk away. The aubergine dish we went for had the most thinly sliced aubergine you could imagine, covered in a thick batter which was the only taste. This was the low point. The only saving grace was the patatas bravas which were well done. We may have made some poor decisions with our menu choices but sadly we won 't be coming back.
Seriously do not go there for food. The cooking is disgusting! No prawns and no Jamon in a tapas place? Gotta be kidding. Ordered a calamari tapas only 6 on the plate. End up leaving the place after 5 mins after the food came. Didn't touch them. The food will make you feel sick after tasting it. I refused to pay.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The staff are very friendly and to me, this is one of the most important factors of a restaurant. The food was delicious, excellent tapas cooked to perfection. My first experience at Taperia was on a Tuesday where they had Caribbean Night with a wonderful friendly Jamaican chef. My family and myself really enjoyed that evening so we went back a week later on a Monday. They did not have the Caribbean Night on that Monday so we indulged ourselves with delicious Tapas!A restaurant not to be missed! :
We used a tastecard, and were given a different menu to the other customers, with fewer options. We ordered some extra bread that never came.We ordered 6 tapas dishes and were brought them as 2 then 3 then 1, with significant waiting periods between so we basically ate the dishes on their own. We had to remind the waiter for our 6th dish which I saw him accidentally give to another table, who returned it to him, and then he brought the same dish to us after our reminder. We weren't offered a dessert, and had to wait 20 minutes before someone came over so we could ask for the bill.Food was pretty good although several of the dishes seemed to be reheated rather than fresh. The wine was very nice but the service was pretty appalling. Glad we had the tastecard because I would have felt cheated if I'd have paid full price.
