Contribute FeedbackThe Bull, a modern gastropub in Ditchling, offers a stylish and inviting atmosphere, complemented by friendly service. While some guests rave about the outstanding food and attentive staff, others express disappointment with certain dishes, citing bland flavors and inconsistent meal quality. Desserts have received praise, but some feel that the main courses do not justify the price. Despite these culinary inconsistencies, many appreciate the pub's ambiance and hospitality, making it a dependable choice for casual gatherings. Overall, The Bull remains a popular spot, though it may require some culinary fine-tuning to meet all expectations.
Really nice greeting, fireside vibe, subtle lighting and excellent real ales sad not as many as in past, but hopefully when the pandemic ends election will return. unfortunately the local stalwarts lack: harveys and long man, but still good. nice menu, including for vegetarian, and excellent crumbs gloomy. what makes this pub really worth is the way is the huge open fire and the tables arranged to enjoy it! keep them flowing the real ale and please not seduce by commercial beer including” fake “ craft beers that attack everywhere!
The first time we were really sown by eating that we have eaten for some time. the squirting and curry mayo was a really fantastic combo, all other dishes also great, but for me this was a highlight. friendly staff in a clean, welcoming environment. will definitely be back.
The bull is a modern, stylish gastropub. friendly staff, relaxed but stylish environment. good quality food to reasonable trips. somewhere where I was a series of times to meet family. not at the top of my choice of eating the place, not especially or unusual enough, but always reliable good quality delicious food. will definitely go back.
This exceeded our expectations. we have booked 2 rooms for one night during a walk along the south downs way. we also had dinner and breakfast in the hotel. the rooms are modern, spacious and well equipped. the staff is friendly and helpful. they are also housed for hikers with dirty boots. both meals were also good and they treated themselves with allergies for one of our party.
The sandwiches and the wine were delicious, and the ambiance is impeccable. Lovely quiet location in a small village, very cozy. However our waitress wasn't very polite and left us with kind of a bad feeling, which is why I'm giving 4 stars and not 5.
