The staff was w... read more We had a wonderful evening at the Lewes Arms, sitting in a cozy room with a crackling fire. It was the perfect setting for a rainy autumn night. The staff was welcoming and attentive, the food was delicious, and they had a great selection of draught beers. We definitely plan on returning the next time we're in Lewes.

We didn't book but were lucky to get a table on the terrace for the two of us and o... read more We visited the Lewes Arms for Sunday lunch after a nice walk along the Ouse. We didn't book but were lucky to get a table on the terrace for the two of us and our dog. The menu was quite limited, several roast meat options, a couple of veggie options or fish and chips. I hadn't intended on having a roast (was hoping for a salad! but opted for the mushroom wellington and was very glad I did. The wellington was delicious and the veg perfectly cooked. It came with roast potatoes, a yorkie, kale, carrots and swede. Really enjoyed and my husband loved the chicken supreme.The service was very good, friendly and efficient and felt very covid secure with staff keeping a good distance and tables far enough apart and our details taken when we first got there.We're not locals but would definitely come back again if we return to Lewes
