My most recent trip to the New Dynasty was a slight disappointment because I was hoping for the buffet, but we were too late. However, the food we ordered off the menu was delicious and we had plenty of leftovers to savor for lunch the next day! View all feedback.
What Cary Hane doesn't like about New Dynasty Restaurant:
Food wise, this is hands down the best Chinese food to eat in town. HOWEVER....When you call in to order, you rarely can get through as they take the phone off the hook. When I did get through to order I was told to call back in 45 minutes to place an order as they were "swamped". I know on weekends you can get busy, but isn't customer service important anymore? Telling a customer to call back because it's an inconve... View all feedback.
Clicked the one rating for this review only because there is no zero. We ordered two combination plates. Chow Mein was cold, limp cabbage with a few dry packaged noodles that were soggy and had absolutely no taste. It was supposed to be Chicken Chow mein but you need a microscope to find the chicken. The Chicken Fried Rice was edible but cold and was ruined when I used the soy sauce as it was pure salt. The Sweet and Sour spareribs were a disaster as the sauce was vinegar and since I was expecting tender pork spareribs, it was a shock to find beef short ribs that were so fatty I ended up with a few bits of chewy beef strings and a pile of fat left on the plate. My husband had the combination with the same rice and chow mein but chicken balls for the protein. They were big fat balls of batter with a tiny piece of chicken inside. Obviously the food was all pre cooked or leftover as it was out from the kitchen very quickly after we ordered....hardly enough time to heat and plate thus a cold tasteless meal. I would not recommend eating here.
Delivery was an hour and half late! We called twice, and only excuses were given. Food was cold too!
I literally was looking around the restaurant to see where the rest of the buffet was as I couldn't believe that there were only a handful of selections. There really is no excuse for a buffet to be this meagre! Of what there was on the buffet some of it was quite good. The Beef with Broccoli, Dry Batter Fried Ribs, and Wonton Soup were absolutely delectable. The Chicken Balls, Fried Wontons, and Ribs in Sauce were acceptable. The Chicken Chow Mein and Fried Rice were abominable. Furthermore there is absolutely nothing for dessert or fruit, just some ice cream. This lack of variety and selection is absolutely unforgivable!Having said that, the place is very nice, well kept, and quite clean, and the service is prompt and friendly. Still, there are much better places in Lethbridge to spend your lunch money!
Disgusting Dinner for 3 delivered to Seniors home $47.00 - 1.Boiled CABBAGE with a few thick steam fried noodles + very few bean sprouts and skimpy tidbits of chicken. 2. Pork Spare ribs - layers of globy fat with bone/cartilage in a very dull sauce (no vegetables - maybe 6 pieces of pineapple in the whole container. 3. TOUGH chicken Balls in thick dough with small piece of chicken inside, lemon sauce ordinary, 4. Fried Rice that was 99.9% rice - with tiny flecks of green (might be onion) and tiny bits of chicken. Not a mushroom carrot or anything that resembled a vegetable. 5. Plain Steamed rice. This meal was a huge disappointment for our 92 year relative. I honestly think that the DYNASTY thinks they can get away with this because Old People in a care home either WON'T Notice - or WON'T know how to complain. SHAME ON THEM.
We went out to dinner at this restaurant last night and the buffet was terrible everything looked tired and old the roast beef was dry and grey in the center all in all I don't think that I am going to return there at least not for the buffet. The staff were friendly and helpful but not enough to make up for the food
