Arriving as the town was shutting down for the n... read more Driving from the castles to Mittenwald, our next Alpine destination, we stopped for a night 's rest in between. Arriving as the town was shutting down for the night we happened upon a friendly hotel in Lermoos. We didn 't even realize we 'd crossed the boarder into Austria until the staff told us. We chatted with the proprietor and his sidekick, old friends that were in a band together in the 60 's called The Playboys, who run the establishment and perform there now and then as, The Old Playboys . All the restaurants in town had closed but our hosts were kind enough to prepare an after hours potato and dumpling goulash and beer before we turned in.
