I visited this place and ate the menu, we had a bit of a hurry and when we were informed that one of the dishes (tagliatelle) was only one unit left, we asked for that and the other diners asked for the others because otherwise we should wait for them to make the same dish but with spaghetti. it took them to serve the first half hour of watch and they brought spaghetti, asking for explanations of why they didn't brin... A warm, inviting family-run restaurant situated 5 minutes from El Corte Ingles in the heart of León. Everything on the menu is excellent but the pizzas deserve a special mention as they are by far the best in León. That's partly due to the excellent thin, crispy bases and because they use mozzarella not the local cheese, cabrales that many others do. I moved here from London 3 years ago and have tried just about all the restaurants in León, this is my favourite. The husband and wife team running Piccolo are very friendly and always find time to make menu suggestions even though the place is always busy. Consequently, you need to allow 10-15 minutes fro the food to be served but it's well worth the wait. Other recommendations are the calamares as a starter, the salads are all good and the escalope (which I don't think appears on their new menu but is still available). This is not a flashy restaurant. The interior is comfortable with a huge painting of Venice on the main feature wall. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
