We were surprised by the prices and size of meals. Meat salad was very oily and not all that tasty. Veal cheek was delicious but served with very small serve of potatoes.

And getting a real good one! We came in Mercado Bar and Restaurant and it was packed downstairs and came upstairs and it was also pretty full. But we were welcome. The hostess got us a very nice table. We ordered a salmon salad and grilled octopus. Both were delicious and beautifully prepared. We selected a Leon white wine, it was also very good. For dessert we really enjoyed a mil hojas with madame cream. It was a great dinner.

With a Sunday night in Leon we used TripAdvisor to help us choose a restaurant. Most places were closed but there were excellent reviews for this restaurant. We arrivedxearly and a delightful barmaid helped us with places to visit and took our booking. The servicexwasdexcellent, thexsetting perfect, and the meal was fabulous. I would certainly support this restaurant's excellentvrating.

I have just eaten here with my italian family, during a trip in Spain. The restaurant is at the 2nd floor: while the 1st one is for the pub and it's quite caothic, the restaurant is quiet, elegant and silent. We ordered some cheeses as a starter and then a main course of meat: everything was good. The dessert was, for me, the best course! We spent about 40 euros per person, but the dinner deserved the price! The waiters were fast very kind.

The downstairs area was very busy so we opted to go upstairs to the restaurant and were warmly welcomed by José who was very friendly and found us an English version of the menu. We shared a roast beef salad and a delicious mushroom risotto and then a superb “millefeuille”. The translations of the Spanish menu were “interesting”. I commented that it was quiet and José then told us that we were eating very early at 9pm and 11pm is the normal time for people to go to restaurants. Spot the tourists! Food and service were exceptional.
