What User doesn't like about Taste Of Havana:
We were visiting the area overnight for my brother's 70th birthday. When I went in to inquire about takeout, the man at the counter told me that the 3 dishes we wanted to try were unavailable. Disappointed, I relayed our situation to him and a young woman that worked there. After some discussion between them, it seemed to me that the woman had no interest in making any attempt to acommodate us. They offer just 7 entr... View all feedback.

Best Cuban food I?ve ever had! The staff is amazing. Great atmosphere. We had tamales, empanadas, black rice, pork plantains. It was absolutely delicious! Don?t forget dessert, the Tres Leches cake is out of this world.
I started with a Cuban coffee that was perfect. It was strong, bold and sweet all at the same time. I had a cuban sandwich with a side included of tostones. The sandwich consists of pork, ham mustard and pickles on sour dough type bread cooked in a pannini press. The outside was crisp with the telltale lines from the press. The ham was mild as was the mustard. The pork was juicy flavorful and velvety tender. The pickles were a disappointment. They should have added a vinegar tang but just didn't add to the dish like they should have. The tostones were perfectly cooked, crisp, warm and slightly salty. They were served with an unusual to me sauce which was a clear broth with smashed garlic in it. I ordered a piece of chocolate tres leche cake to end my meal. With another coffee of course! The server delivered a slab of home made cake that was moist and flavorful. The saturation of the 3 milks was evenly distributed and not too dry or mushy. I have to mention my server. A young woman who was neat, clean and most importantly just the right mix of attentiveness and cheerfulness. She made me feel as if I was guest at her family home. Related to the owners? Either way she did a great job rounding out an almost perfect meal. I would travel back to Lenoir just to eat here again.
Absolutely amazing place to eat. Food is always delicious and the atmosphere is so inviting, not to mention the sweet owner, Iris!!! She always treats us extra special and that and many other reasons keep us coming back!!! Although the food is great, leave room for dessert because they are fabulous. Definitely hard to beat a Tres Leches cake but the slice or portion size will leave you a gasp and if that's not your thing, then the Havana Sunset is to die for!!! And if you don't like either, then you should probably go get checked out!!!!!
Incredible food. Coming from Florida, this was a great experience. The chocolate tres leches is to die for. Homemade flan! A guy could get real fat real quick here. Can?t wait to go back and indulge again soon. Thank you to the staff and management/owners for a great experience!
