The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I can’t wait to go back!

We visited on a Sunday morning after hearing positive reviews about their brunch service. The restaurant was bustling and quite noisy, with children screaming and crying—perhaps we should have anticipated that. It was uncomfortably warm inside, as the heating was turned up high on what was a mild day. The food was average at best, and the portion sizes were rather small. It seems more suited for families than for groups of friends looking to catch up. Overall, it was not a relaxing or enjoyable 40 minutes. We ate as quickly as we could and decided to leave.

The experience was quite average overall. The service was especially slow, and we ultimately had to give up waiting for additional drinks and dessert. I suspect this might be because the restaurant is about to close for refurbishment. I'm hopeful that Light on the Common will return to better standards once it reopens.

Ran out of jam by 11am on A Saturday. Front of house staff rude

We visited on Sunday morning after hearing great things about their brunch service. The restaurant was quite busy and noisy, filled with the sounds of children crying and screaming, which we might have anticipated. Unfortunately, the heating was too warm for a mild day, and the food was just average with small portion sizes. It seems better suited for families rather than a relaxing catch-up among friends. Overall, it wasn’t the pleasant 40 minutes we had hoped for, so we finished our meals as quickly as we could and left.
