The restaurant was bustling and quite noisy, with children screaming and crying—perhaps we should have anticipated that. It was uncomfortably warm inside, as the heating was turned up high on what was a mild day. The food was average at best, and the portion sizes were rather small. It seems more suited for families than for groups of friends looking to catch up. Overall, it was not a relaxing or enjoyable 40 minutes. We ate as quickly as we could and decided to leave.

I suspect... read more The experience was quite average overall. The service was especially slow, and we ultimately had to give up waiting for additional drinks and dessert. I suspect this might be because the restaurant is about to close for refurbishment. I'm hopeful that Light on the Common will return to better standards once it reopens.
