Was Anonym at Ichirin a mag?
My favourite Japanese In the area. Really genuine service and friendly. Food is fresh and tasty. Takeaway menu is a little limited. I recommend done in for more options. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Ichirin:
We tried the customized omakase menu. The seating was cozy but a bit cramped. The kitchen took up a significant portion of the restaurant. The salmon was tasty as expected. The broth with scallop-filled fried balls was incredibly flavorful. The tempura white fish Sang Choy Bau was unique with a tangy jelly accompaniment. The thinly sliced beef was also delicious. Advance booking necessary for this small sushibar with limited seating but the food is fresh and tasty. I like the red emperor usuzukuri and beef tataki but the octopus was hard. reasonable prices.
For bento boxes and an octopus karaage. Portion is way too small. Is it quality I paid for? Nothing to shout about as it is almost the same elsewhere at half the price. Dipping sauce for the tempura didn’t come out until we’re...almost done with our meals, and that when prompted about our miso soups. The warm rice for one of the bento boxes came out undercooked, later found out it was done by a trainee. The master cook should have tasted the bulk before anything else but didn’t. First time and my last time here. Doesn’t matter what the other reviews rave about but it’s definitely not fine dining price for a cafe.
I made a reservation in advance for the Omakase (degustation) dinner at this restaurant. The six courses included seasonal seafood and meat, all beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I particularly enjoyed the Panko Crumbed kingfish with fresh salsa, the beef tenderloin with crumbed lotus, and the pork belly with daikon. However, the standout dish was the chawanmushi with seafood, which was silky smooth and packed with umami. The service was friendly and welcoming. Despite the limited space, the restaurant had a cozy charm. Definitely a hidden gem in the suburban area of Leeming.
Our first visit, and we will come again. Green tea, in a good size tetsubin, came quickly I think, alternatively, you get drinking water without paying for it. I ordered cold soba, which I enjoyed, and that could be the simplest complete meal one...could savor here. The soba came on a bamboo mat, with a few ice cubes, sauce to dip it in, and accompanied by tempura. My wife ordered the bento set priced at It would be filling for her, but I got to taste and like the tuna sashimi. Service was excellent even though we came at a very busy time. Our reservation was made without fuss.
Ichirin stands out as a premier destination for authentic Japanese food in Perth. Patrons rave about the freshness of the sashimi and the exquisite bento boxes, noting generous portions and meticulous preparation. While some experiences with service varied, many appreciated the warmth and attentiveness of the staff, particularly during busier hours. Guests recommend booking ahead, as the intimate space can fill quickly. Although the omakase menu has received mixed feedback, the overall quality of the dishes, coupled with a cozy ambiance, makes Ichirin a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience.

The food and service at this restaurant are outstanding. While it’s a bit on the pricey side, the portion sizes are generous, and the quality is top-notch! I would definitely recommend it for a special occasion, and I highly suggest making a reservation, as it is quite a small venue.
This hidden gem has become our new favorite spot for both dining in and takeout. It's the best Japanese food I've ever had!
Food is delicious and well priced. Best Japanese in Perth. Only seats 12 though so if you have a group best to book.
Fantastic place, fantastic food. If you are after a unique degustation (Japanese style), head to Ichirin. You won't regret it. Great service with no corkage fee! No, this is not a typo!
