North Star Coffee Shop - Leeds

Large coffee shop, a little different, funky with tasty handmade brot next door made. I had a gourmet cheese/bread, delicious. staff very friendly. toilets exceptionally clean.

I stumbled across this cafe whilst visiting relatives in Leeds. The bruschetta (first photo) was one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. Fresh, and so much flavour in the simple ingredients. Even the bread and tomato ketchup (which my partner had with his meal) were amazing. I wouldn't have expected so much from a simple dish in a cafe. I was honestly stunned. Coffee was fantastic, staff friendly and the food a really great price. Because I loved the food so much I also bought a sausage roll to take away and see if their bakery dishes were just as good and I wasn't let down! Cheesy jalapeno sausage roll it was beautiful. I cannot recommend this cafe highly enough. It is hands down the best cafe I've been to. If I didn't live so far away I would definitely be a regular customer!

I had a large coffee and was impressed by the wide variety of options available, all accompanied by easily accessible information about each one. The atmosphere is excellent, and there is a good selection of baked goods, both sweet and savory. I couldn't go inside during my visit, so I’ll hold off on giving a full five stars until I have the chance to sit down inside, but I’m confident it will meet my expectations. If you happen to be nearby, I highly recommend checking them out—super friendly staff, fast service, and great quality!

This restaurant is fairly decent, offering average fries and decent food. I have no major complaints, but we were asked to leave when it got busy in the afternoon, even though they were still open. It seems they want the business, but it’s clear they have to enforce a closing time. The location is great, situated next to the Museum of the Poor and with plenty of parking available.

I ordered a salted caramel brownie and a latte for breakfast. The brownie was moist, delicious, and not overly sweet—just the right size for £3.25, especially compared to the tiny portions you often find at other places on the high street. The coffee was also excellent; I could smell the delightful aroma of the coffee beans, and it’s some of the best coffee I’ve had in Leeds so far. However, my friend ordered hot chocolate, which didn’t taste like the usual hot chocolate we were expecting, so I would definitely recommend sticking to the coffee. The interior of the restaurant is quite spacious, but there aren’t many seats available. I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and it was quite popular, so I had to wait a little for a table. The staff were friendly and nice, but they seemed really busy.
