From the moment we were greeted at the door, to thanking them on our way out. We arrived for our daughter's Birthday meal. The meal was delicious, an excellent wide variety of vegetables. Lauren ,the roast beef tender and succulent. The personal touch for...the birthday girl, she loved the greeting on her desert. Thank you to all staff for making a birthday memorable. Thank you so much from the Hill family View all feedback.
What P6199FZtracyp doesn't like about Gildersome Arms:
The worst experience ever, food awful, deserts still frozen. Our children were crying with the awful experience, as a vulnerable adult was running around screeming, no staff came to explain things were in control. I spoke with the manager and he did say sorry, and... View all feedback.
Popped in for a family meal, carvery was bob on, steak fondue is incredible, Kirsten and Freya provided great service, will be back.
The food at this restaurant, prepared by chef Luke, was excellent. The staff were very polite and the prices were affordable. I would highly recommend this place.
Lovely cavery as always best mash best gravy best York pudding always a great meal every time I come .
We visited this pub specifically for the carvery as we were craving a full Sunday dinner with all of the trimmings and but with none of the effort of actually having to spend hours making it…. or washing up afterwards! As soon as we entered we were given a warm welcome from the lady behind the bar. As we had not been here before we asked how this carvery operated and we were given clear and helpful instructions. We then thanked her and made our way to our table, settled in and went back to the till to order both from the menu and purchase our carvery tickets. My son is autistic and this means that we often have trouble at mealtimes. The kids menu in here is a dream… it’s a pick and mix… it couldn’t have been more perfect for our sons needs. He also has to have his food presented to him in a particular way, with gravy separated in a pot etc and they accommodated his needs exactly and without issue. Once we were ready to get our food we approached the carvery area, there was no queue at that time and we waited there for a moment and then I noticed the sign that asks you to ring the bell! So we then rang the bell for the chef to come out and serve us (genius idea) The chef came out quickly, he was happy, chatty and a genuinely lovely person all round. We got our food and made our way back to our table. While away from our table a waitress had changed the cup of cutlery for us, wiped the table and given us fresh serviettes, she later came back to check that everything was ok with our meals too. She also made us feel welcome and comfortable. The food itself was delicious, the turkey was full of moisture and the portion sizes were perfect. I had a bit of all three meats and can honestly say they were all cooked to perfection. The food overall was very fresh and very tasty. The cauliflower cheese surprised us the most as it was so full of flavour compared to the version we usually in the supermarket. There was only one thing I could point out and it’s not even a negative thing, the handles of the serving spoons in the self-serve vegetable area were a bit hot to the touch but not everyone in our party thought so. Overall I would say that this place has given us an excellent first impression and we will be happily returning. There’s even a lovely little play area out back but we didn’t use it on this occasion.
