This is a lovely place attached to the hotel, staying at the hotel, the first night we just wanted a decent pub meal. This has a great pub menu, very friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help. Excellent hand pull beers from the Osset brewery, food tasty and well prepared, we both had the Caesar salad. Just no atmosphere in the place, overall a really a really clinical feel which just let's it down. Possibly becau... View all feedback.
What ChrisA954 doesn't like about Claret Jug Oulton Hall:
We had a one night stay at the hotel two rounds of golf.On arrival we met in the Claret Jug and order an expensive drink. There was hand cleaner social distance queuing for the bar but the golfers ignored it once they gathered at their tables. We also ordered toasties with fries which took nearly 40 minutes to arrive. The fries toasties were barely warm as we hadn’t a lot of time before our tee-off time, we decided to... View all feedback.
I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire team for the warm hospitality, delicious food, and special care taken for my daughter during our final family gathering before she returns to Italy. It was the perfect way to end her 'hen' weekend.
My family went out for Sunday lunch and found a good deal for 3 courses. The staff were friendly and helpful, making our toddler happy in her high chair. We all had starters of mushroom and ciabatta, which were tasty. The staff accommodated our daughter by bringing her a child's roast dinner along with our starters, as she takes a long time to eat. For the main course, we all had roasts, with a mix of beef and pork. The roasts came with a generous serving of trimmings and two big jugs of gravy. We couldn't finish it all, so they kindly provided a doggy bag for later. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to take a picture of the mains as our daughter took the phone to watch kids shows. For dessert, we had cheesecake and a Clementine tart, both were nice but the tart was delicious. As an ale drinker, I would have preferred more options as they mainly offer common commercial lagers. The venue had nice window views and overall, it was a lovely visit with a big thumbs up. Thank you!
The cheese board pictured costs £16, and I'm sure many others are also thinking the same thing as me.
Absolutely awful. Lack of staff, super miserable, unfriendly staff there and extremely long wait time for food. Wrong orders, loud visitors and awful experience.
Top place to be. Food and drinks. Service is very good views are excellent will visit again soon.
