What larnerdarren likes about Chequers Inn:
We came here on bank holiday Mon for a late lunch. It’s a beautiful old traditional pub with a nice menu. We both went for the scallops which we had with the homemade fries which were double fried I think. Absolutely delicious. I had a house red and my partner a rose. She’s been here before, but this was my first visit. Highly recommended and I’m looking forward to coming back. View all feedback. What T2901MCandrewb doesn't like about Chequers Inn:
Very disappointed booked it over the phone for 6 then get a email a few days later saying your table won't be reserved unless you pay £60 deposit, no mention of a deposit in the phone call. read moreChequers has long been a beloved country pub, boasting a formidable selection of hand-pulled ales and a regularly updated menu of gourmet offerings. While many continue to praise the warmth of its cozy ambiance and attentive staff, recent visits reveal a mixed bag of experiences. Some diners lamented overpriced meals lacking in essential sides and freshness, while others highlighted unfortunate service encounters and declining food quality. However, numerous guests still rave about the delightful flavors and generous portions, particularly the hearty signature dishes. Overall, Chequers remains a charming spot, though it seems to face challenges in maintaining its former glory.
