The Garden - Leederville

We went to the Garden Restaurant on Sunday and we're very disappointed with steak sandwich. Meat inferior, not a quality piece of steak. Sour dough bun on the stale side. On the upside one of us had the calamari which was very nice and tender. Ordered a side of fries which was huge and came in a colander. Atmosphere great. Will still go back again, a little more discerning in our meal choice.

I work in Leederville and know the amount of choice out there for a tasty lunch. I took my parents here for a Friday lunch today and left an hour and a half later and my mother still had not eaten. She ordered a steak (just under $40) and over an hour later had still not been served. We asked the waitress several times to follow up - her response was 'oh are you in a hurry? three requests later, including having to go to the counter to follow up and it finally arrived 85 minutes after first ordering it - tough as leather and horribly overdone. It was honestly insulting to serve that to a customer who has waited so long for her meal - it felt very disrespectful.She didn't eat it and we let - it was removed from the bill.The rest of our table's food was decent, but this experience ruined the lunch for us - would not come back.

I took a student here for a beer and we both had a good night. The vibe is pretty chill and the staff are nice and knowledgable

Style over substance. You can have the funkiest decor out there but if you can't get the basics of service and food quality right then it's just an empty gesture.Went here with friends and everyone was disappointed. The waitress although pleasant was incompetent, didn't know anything about the menu, forgot to bring drinks and was generally away with the fairies.The menu for lunch is pretty limited and not a great variety if you want to keep it light and healthy.My daughter went for a halumi salad which basically consisted of a huge pile of rocket, so undercooked they were raw asparagus and two pieces of deep fried halumi.I had the sausages and mash, it was ok, a bit school dinnerish to be honest but tasty enough.One poor guest ordered the steak sarnie but without bread. What arrived can only be described as a piece of steak with a handful of grater cheese straight out of the fridge piled on top. This of course made the steak cold and was sent back and eventually returned slightly melted. Terrible quality control out of the kitchen, wasn't busy so I would hate to be in there when it is. Really poor experience, plenty of other choice in the area so I wouldn't bother.

We were there in a group shared starters then i had fish and chips followed 2 hours later by terrible diahorrea. Cant say ill be going back any time in the future.
