Parkes Place, a quaint breakfast and lunch destination, evokes mixed feelings among patrons. While many praise its inviting atmosphere and hearty offerings like oversized pancakes and delectable French toast, others have faced disappointing service and lackluster food. Some diners have reported uncomfortable interactions with staff, raising concerns about customer treatment. Nonetheless, loyal patrons fondly remember the restaurant's warm service and delightful dishes, particularly appreciating its kid-friendly environment. With its homey vibe reminiscent of southern cooking, Parkes Place remains a beloved spot for many, despite recent critiques that suggest it may need to reassess its service standards.

Was Kayla Alfonso at Parke's Place a mag?
As for the food, their French toast is the best around! The kids always go for the pancakes, which are as big as large platters—huge portions! My only complaint is that they stopped the outdoor music, which was such a lifesaver during COVID. We loved sitting outside, ordering food, and enjoying the live performances. That was fantastic! Overall, I’d rate Parkes Place a solid 10/10. It’s friendly, affordable, and deli... View all feedback.

What Preacher Preacher dislikes about Parke's Place:
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. What was advertised as a $7.50 burger actually cost me $14.75, and it was absolutely awful. The fries were equally bad—soggy and unappetizing. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for decent food. View all feedback.

This charming little breakfast and lunch spot never fails to impress. We first visited six years ago, and during that visit, my son, who has sensory sensitivities, had some trouble with his ice cream. Both Michele and Parke quickly noticed and addressed the situation. For years, Parke's was the only restaurant my son felt comfortable dining at outside of home, and we treasured our family dinners there. I still miss Parke's clam fritters and the warmth of the place itself. The staff continues to remember my son and genuinely cares for their customers. I always look forward to sneaking in for breakfast when I can. The bustling counter is filled with friendly faces, creating a welcoming, homey atmosphere. Even if you’re just observing, there’s something uniquely special about Ledyard here. Please never consider moving back to Preston!

As the food started to come out, only about half of our group had received their meals when the server mentioned that the owner specifically wanted us to settle the bill since we were seated outside. My ex insisted he would pay only after everyone had been served, which I personally found reasonable, as it’s customary to pay after a meal. Ultimately, he went inside to pay because he is kinder than I am. I should point out that, if you have kids, you know how long it takes to get them settled and in the car. We certainly had no intention of leaving without paying! If the restaurant had concerns about this, they should have seated us indoors. The whole situation felt quite insulting, as we are all professional, respectful adults and frequently dine out with our children. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I’m uncertain if this was an instance of racial profiling or stereotyping, but I do know that we will not be supporting this business again. I would never recommend anyone patronize a place that treats customers this way!
