emilio's BBQ - Leduc

This is hands-down one of the worst meals I've ever had! We ended up throwing it in the garbage, and no one in my family could eat it. We wasted $40. When you walk into the place it smells sterile and not at all like a BBQ restaurant. It's very bare and the decor is sad. The plastic menu stated that meat was 'smoked brisket' and 'smoked pulled pork and chicken.' We ordered all of the supposed smoked meats only to discover that none of it was real BBQ! None of it was smoked! There was no smoke ring on it and the sauce was a generic, thick sauce (definitely not homemade). The meat was incredibly watery and had an odd texture and taste. Service was incredibly slow. We were the only ones in there and it took over half an hour to get our 3 meals. My husband poked his head into the back and noticed crock pots! THAT'S why the food was watery, tasteless, and had no smoke rings! Because it wasn't smoked! The side dishes offered are also bizarre for a BBQ joint (steamed vegetables and onion rings???). There was no mac n' cheese or potato salad or corn bread or any of the sides you identify with good BBQ places. My husband is American and said if this food was served down south that they'd go out of business in a few weeks. The fact that this place gets people to actually give them good reviews tells me that they must be recruiting friends or family to review them, as I honestly can't see how people could enjoy this food. By the way, they constantly patrol their reviews and delete anyone who gives them less than 5 stars! They just deleted my review on Facebook. Instead of acknowledging our awful experience and offering something to us to make up for our poor meal, they just ignored it and deleted the review. Terrible management.

Upon entry the atmosphere brought down my expectations. As with most bbq places, getting the food when it's fresh is key. I have had this place several times now and each time I was pleasantly surprised, even when it wasn't freshly cooked. Could use some work on some of the sauces which taste like bullseye. Overall, not bad and would recommend.

The food was absolutely disgusting I had the ribs and they tasted like rotten pork, Plus who has their little child running around behind the counter touching everything if I'm not mistaken that is a safety hazard for the child and should be reviewed

How the hell I didn't know this place was here I have no idea.

Saw the sign, in I went Lots of options on the menu board, I chose takeout and the safe option of cheese burger and Mac and Cheese as my side.
