How can I describe my experience? Let me explain: my husband has been talking about this restaurant for years. He used to come here back in college and always raved about the delicious food. Finally, we had the chance to dine here today. The food did not disappoint - it was absolutely delicious! If you're a food enthusiast, you must visit this place. However, I have to mention that the service was quite poor. The waitress attended to another table before coming to us, forgot parts of our orders, and neglected to refill our drinks unless we asked. When we inquired about dessert, she forgot to bring a menu. We had to request a specific dish that she initially claimed they didn't have, only to find out later that it was an option. She explained that it was a busy time, but in reality, she only had to attend to our table and one other. Be prepared to exercise patience if you plan on dining here.
Great family dining experience in a small town in the USA. The pies here are the best! The staff are amazing and work well together. Definitely worth a visit. Thank you for the memories, we will be back again.
We had dinner here and found the food to be tastier with larger portions compared to our previous experience at lunch. The price was $21 per person and included roast beef, canned beans, and a packaged roll. The pie was decent, but at $5.50 a piece, we felt it was overpriced. Overall, we suggest looking elsewhere, perhaps a place like McDonald's, as this restaurant does not live up to its 4-star rating.
Nice little place. Definitely has lots of historical character. Menu is short ham sammies, short list of plate lunches, and pies of all kinds. Don't go in there looking for chicken fingers and fries or spaghetti or whatever. That's all there is. The menu is posted on a chalkboard in the restaurant, so call ahead if you want to know what the plate lunches are that day. Servers were friendly. Food was good a little pricey but not outrageous. The pies were very very good. Yum!
