Winstead's - Leawood

A must-visit if you're in Kansas City! The view from the top of the skyscrapers is fantastic and enjoyable!

Winstead's is my favorite. I've been a loyal customer for years, and at one point or another, I've always loved my go-to double burger with everything and fries at most of their locations. Even with the influx of new burger joints, Winstead's remains my top choice.

I hadn't heard much about Winstead, but I decided to give it a try. For those unfamiliar, their burgers are thin patties, and the double burgers are about the size you would expect. The burger was tasty, and I enjoyed the 50-50 side (half fries, half onion rings) as well. The chocolate shake was also quite good. In total, we ordered three double burgers, three sides, and three small chocolate shakes, which came to around $40 before tax and tip.

Had a great experience! Burgers, onion rings and shakes were really good. Best of all was our server, Conner. He was very friendly and did a great job even though he'd only been on the job for two days. Thanks for great service and food!!!

A Kansas City icon, Winstead's had a special niche in their true steak burgers. Rather than ground beef, these burgers are very thin slices of steak that melt in your mouth. With a large slice of onion and your favorite condiment they are quite tasty. We ordered the doubles with a large fry. The fries are thick juicy and hot, with just the right amount of crunch. The best is the large shakes, still made the old fashion way on a blender with ice cream. Standard flavors, including real butterscotch. Yummy. They serve the shakes in a tall glass and leave the rest for you to pour into your glass on the table. Their drive through is a little slower than fast food, as the make the food hot and fresh for your order.
