Contribute Feedback What Tommy Perkins doesn't like about Moonie’s Burgers:
Super sad and disappointed as we used to love Moonies. No one was there to greet us when we walked in. In fact for the majority of the visit the three that were on the clock were in the kitchen. Waitstaff not pleasant or welcoming. Ordered a cheeseburger w onion rings. No cheese and 4, yup four onion rings. I also asked for a side salad. Had to ask for silverware. When I returned the burger and asked for cheese the w... View all feedback.
It has potential?I think!! I was really torn about writing this review or not solely because the waitress I had two of the three times I went was AMAZING! I must also note that I had received coupons in the mail which brought me in as well I wouldn?t have given it two more chances after the first visit if it wasn?t for the coupons. The positive of my first visit was the waitress was extremely friendly, sweet, and checked on us through out my visit. Fries weredelicious! Chicken tenders for the kids meal were fresh and tender. The negative of this first visit was the burger was dry (western burger) and slightly over cooked. I would still rate this first visit a solid 3 just because the waitressmade it worth it! Which brings me to my second visit. Ordered the bacon burger and the patty was delicious and perfectly cooked. The bacon, however, (see photo) was absolutely disgusting ruined the juicy perfect ?could?ve been? burger. The bacon was burnt not crispy BURNT! Nasty. The waiter was decent. He was friendly enough. Chicken strips were , once again, fresh and hot for the kids meal. This second visit would get a two star rating solely due to the burnt grossbacon that ruined such a beautiful burger. *cry* Third visit. I didn?t want to give up because I really liked the other Moonie, but? this sadly might?ve been the last visit. Had the same waitress as the first visit and she?s incredible! Asweetheart. She also seems very comfortable being a waitress unlike some of the younger ones, but that?s no problem in itself. Ordered a regular hamburger this time. There was a long strand of hair on the patty of the burger *cry* !! I wasso bummed. I know things like this happen, but after the last two visits and really wanting this place to redeem itself I couldn?t feel more bummed *cry some more*. Once again, though, the chicken tenders were fresh and hot for the littleone. The fries also delicious again. Unsweet tea was on point. It?s hard to not want to go
Love the Anderson Mill location so was excited this one was so close in Leander. Ordered takeout and while ready quickly, was disappointed with the quality. The amount of sweet potato fries that came with one burger was ridiculously light, a full side order of onion rings came with very few as well. Bacon cheeseburger had no lettuce, I a1sked to add mustard and cut in half... neither happened. For the price, this order was simply not worth it. Hoping dining in will be abetter experience.
I am really sad and disappointed because we used to love Moonies. When we walked in, there was no one to greet us. In fact, for most of our visit, the three staff members on duty were in the kitchen. The waitstaff was neither pleasant nor welcoming. I ordered a cheeseburger with onion rings, but received it without cheese and only four onion rings. I also requested a side salad, but had to ask for silverware separately. When I returned the burger to request cheese, the server just stared at it for a moment, finally took it back to the kitchen, and then brought it back without saying a word, simply placing it in front of us. The onion rings tasted like they were frozen from a bag, which is not what I remember from before. I definitely won’t be returning to this location.
This is a fantastic place for beer, mixed drinks, and burgers! I ordered to-go this time, but I also sat down at the bar where the bartender was amazing. I had a Long Island Iced Tea, and it was excellent. You should definitely check it out!
I was a bit let down by the chili cheese fries, as they switched to nacho cheese instead of the classic shredded cheddar that used to top them. On a positive note, the chicken salad was outstanding—fresh and tangy with the dressing. The gluten-free bun and veggie burger were also surprisingly delicious. Overall, it was a great experience, though a bit more expensive than before, which is just the reality of inflation. The decor is quite minimal, and it still feels like a Mexican restaurant. The parking situation can be tricky; you have to turn down the street and pull in, as it’s a curb rather than a driveway at the front—it's tough unless you have a truck. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to help. I would rate it 4.6 overall.
