A pair of city folks coming through Leamington (careful now, gotta pronounce "Lee-Ming-Ton" and not "Lay-Ming-Ton", as per the locals!!!!)... looking for a place to have dinner, came across Freddy's, checked it out on T.A, and so gave it a try. Well we both had perch, and the publicity was absolutely right: Voted #1 Perch indeed!!! Brittany was delightful and very witty and friendly, which made our evening even more... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Freddy's:
Arrived at Freddy's in the late afternoon in July only to be told all the empty tables on the patio were reserved for parties of a minimum of 4 because it was their Wednesday wine night. We were placed inside and observed a waiter offer a party of 2 a table on the patio. Had travelled hours to this destination on a beautiful sunny day only to be told we couldn't eat outside. Will never return. View all feedback.
Beautiful restaurant, indoor and outdoor kitchen. eat delicious.
Had the falafel and suppe. few vegan options, but what they had was legit good.
We had lunch here in May 2023. Owner/staff were very friendly. We had the bruschetta, fattoush salad, and a falafel wrap. The patio was pleasant. Overall the food was mediocre and expensive to boot. However options in that area are very limited.
Have to agree with JonathanBourgeois They advertise that they are vegan-friendly, but there was really only one thing on the menu that is vegan, and that's after modification. The food was good, but very limited selection. Updated from previous review on 2023-01-08
Drove by this place and saw a Vegan friendly sign so I stopped by for lunch. When I ask the waitress what vegan options they had she was not sure, and was not aware of a vegan friendly sign. She went inside (to talk to the cook I 'm assuming) and came back out to say she couldn 't guarantee anything was definitely vegan (for instance the falafel are cooked in the same fryer as chicken, fish etc) The vegan option I could see was two entrees which was hummus with pita or babaganoush with pita.. for 15$ each. Pretty steep in my eyes for something that requires like 1 minute of preparation. I did not inquire if the soup had cream but I would assume that one of them was probably vegan? They had one vegetarian burger from a mushroom patty but it came with cheese and I believe non vegan mayo. By the time you remove the ingredients it 's not much of a burger in my opinion. At the end I got the fallafel wrap with no tzatziki sauce as it contained mayo with eggs. The waitress (who was vegetarian) was very nice and gave great service otherwise, the wait time was short, the food tasted okay. From the other reviews it seems as though the chef might be able to cook something vegan off menu but if you have a vegan friendly sign outside your restaurant you should really have more vegan options directly on the menu or at the very least indicate on the menu that you can cook up something vegan. Would of given 3 stars if it did not have a vegan friendly sign as I see it as very misleading. Apparently a few km down in Kingsville there is a vegan or vegetarian place so I wouldn 't bother here and would make the detour.
