My wife and I came across this place by accident on a recent summer afternoon as we were driving through this picturesque valley about an hour away from Donostia. We arrived at the end of the lunch hour and our hostess said she would serve us what she had. It was all great—starting with a caña, or glass, of cold beer and green Guernika peppers sautéed in olive oil and salt, served with a basket of fresh bread! This was followed by a dish of risotto, mushrooms and cheese cooked in a tasty sauce, along with a plate of stewed beef and potatoes. This was a great find and I would definitely come back.
