I won’t get into how loud the Spanish speakers including your wait staff was in the bar. What a horribly loud, annoying atmosphere on a Wednesday night. I've been wanting to try this place out for a while now and I'm so glad I did. The chicken empanadas were soft and the meat was juicy. The seasoning was delicious on everything. The Gyoza was also yummy. Loved that they had reserved spaces just for the restaurant that were off street. The waitress was so friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back again. There is designated parking in front of the building which made it convenient for us. Our server was friendly and spoke both English and Spanish. It was not very busy since it was a Wednesday, which was expected. My friend ordered the maracuya sour cocktail and ceviche, while I opted for the lomo saltado and the strawberry/ginger lemon juice. We also shared the chicken causa. We absolutely loved everything!! Both drinks were delicious - the sour cocktail had a nice balance of flavors and the lemon juice was very refreshing (although a bit pricey). I didn't try the ceviche myself, but my friend couldn't stop raving about it. I thoroughly enjoyed the lomo saltado with its generous portions - the fries were perfectly crispy and salty, the rice was well seasoned, and the steak was amazing! It was juicy and the sauce was delightful. The chicken causa was a pleasant surprise with its unique flavors that complemented each other well. I would highly recommend trying a variety of dishes here, you won't be disappointed!

Aesthetics of the plates were phenomenal, and the overall environment was welcoming. I will recommend Japu for anyone who’s looking for culinary experience of an explosion between Japanese culture and Latin culture. Dilenia, the bartender makes the best cocktails in town and I will have to recommend her spirits.
