Went here last night. Decor is so-so, nothing special but nice and clean. Service was very attentive and cordial. Beef tartare appetizer was good but a little small for the price. Salmon tartare had better flavours but again a bit small for the price. For...the mains, the braised deer was not melt-in-the-mouth as it should have been but flavours were nice. The octopus in dashi broth was decent but lacked a bit of oomph. As for the 45-day rib steak, the taste was pleasing, but explainably cold given the size of the meat. A little pricey but again explainable given the process for the ageining of the meat. The sauces that accompanied were a little thin and somewhat bland (pepper sauce and red wine sauce). The sides were the stars last night: fries, mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. The crème brulée was standard and the churros kindly offered by the waiter were excellent. Good time here but there are better places for the price and food.
The food was decent, but the ambiance of the restaurant does not make it worth revisiting. The location was unappealing, with multiple closed businesses on the block and a lack of cleanliness outside. As a result, we chose not to return.
Very nice staff, had mashed with steak. potatoes were very salty. Meat was tender and cooked to order. Entree grilled iceberg salad soggy little to no taste of blue cheese. Grilled salad requires a courser leaf (romaine)Potion of meat was small vs price. Meal cost...same as Gibby's but much lesser quality.Friend found steak too salty and got into argument with chef over not wanting to refund partially especially since it was returned. Steak can be started over if not cooked to the liking of the client but not the taste. In the end he comped him entirely.Group of 11 was charged more for the serving of cake than cost of cake. Clients who bring own dessert save money for restaurant which has dessert included in the menu de degustation. You don't charge a group who spends $800.
Rustic tiles of the restaurant with delicious French dishes. I recommend you try dishes such as beef tartar and braided beef carpet in red wine. The desert with a cup of coffee was also perfect.
As a first time client, I very am sorry to report a negative comment on this restaurant. I will say the place is clean and has a nice ambiance. Now about the food. To expensive for what you get. I ordered a $50.00 steak. Recieved...my meal, to find a half a small potato, very small cup of sauce and a steak you could cook better at home, and less expensive. Yes I could have returned it, but you all know what happens when you return food ! My advice to the owner, look at changing your chef, reduce your prices and most important quality control, before serving it to your customers look at the plate and think would I eat this and or serve this to a paying client? Very disappointed!
