We (husband and I with our family and friends....12 people) were in Laurel for the Hellfighters Block party and were told that this place was a great place to e... read more We (husband and I with our family and friends....12 people) were in Laurel for the Hellfighters Block party and were told that this place was a great place to eat. We got there at 7:15 pm. They scrunched us around two square tables, one of which was incredibly wobbly. First, the music was SO loud that we could not even talk to each other. We had to actually yell for anybody to hear us. My 7 yr old grandson got a headache and we had to put ear plugs, that my son in law had, in his ears. Our waitress finally got to us. She had another table that was complaining because they had still not gotten their check that they had asked for. She finally took our drink and appetizer order, while giving us a LONG list of everything they were out of. Finally she brought our drinks out two at a time. Three of the drinks had black stuff floating in them and we had to get new ones. All we got was an ewwww, no apology. It was 7:50 by the time she took our order and we were then informed that they were out of pork. Seriously!!!!!! At 7:45 they were out of major things that a BBQ place should not be out of!!!!!!! Half our table wanted pork and had to look at the menu again to order something else. We FINALLY got our food!! It was MOST DEFINITELY NOT TEXAS BBQ!!!!!! The ribs were good but were slightly dry and the bbq sauce was very very thin. Several of our people had complaints about their food. The okra appeared to have been flash fried to the point the outside was crunchy but the inside was not done. The mac and cheese was awful!!!!!! My grandsons chicken looked and tasted way overcooked and he would not eat it. My daughter got the sausage and cheese platter and the cheese looked like it had been sitting out. It was slightly hard on the edges and greasy looking. Once our food finally came our waitress did not come to check on us or see if we wanted needed refills. My husband had to get his own ice. We could no longer handle the loud music, not being able to communicate with each other, and lack of service. We had to get our own to go boxes and to go cups and then had to go look for our waitress to get our checks. That also took FOREVER it seemed. Our check was $78!!!!!!!!!! Not worth it!!!!!!! Prices and explanations make no... read more As a former restaurant manager, I can tell the menu was obviously put together by someone who has never run a restaurant before. Prices and explanations make no sense or simply don't exist on the menu. I almost got up and left, but we stayed and now I wish I had just left. Finally got food ordered after waiting 20 mins for our server to come back to the table. It was NOT worth the time we waited nor the price it cost. The brisket was mostly fat. Mac and cheese tasted like nothing but pepper and the smoked corn tasted like NOTHING. Wasn't the server's fault. He was trying.
