Chicken was beautiful. The chips were extremely salty. Pasta was nice without being fabulous. Staff weren't real friendly and customer service upon leaving was terrible. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Original Charcoal Chicken:
When we couldn't get a booking at our preferred restaurant in Launceston we decided to have a takeaway from Charcoal Chicken. The standard of this meal was far below expectation. There was no roast pumpkin available so we ordered peas and they included corn which for us was okay but would have been better to be informed. Overall the meal was a poor standard and in the same situation would not order again. View all feedback.
Small dry chicken that was $20. Expensive and over rated. We won’t return and don’t understand why anyone would. Best to buy a Cole’s or Woolworths chicken for half the price and much larger and moister.
There was no charcoal flavour in the chicken whatsoever. Basically it tasted like rotisserie chicken. There were small bones the stuffing and the chips were cold. It was below average and disappointing.
We had lunch here, it was not as busy compared to dinner time and we were served straight away, food was average and chicken was dry unfortunately. Having coleslaw helped to moisten the chicken although that was not the intended purpose. Burger was alright though.
Polite service, quick and easy option for lunch or dinner. Easy location and really tasty chicken. Don't miss this when in Launceston.
Well this is a strange place ... it's in a prominent location in Launceston and it's clearly stood the test of time over the years. I was expecting really great things only to be disappointed. The staff were okay... the food was okay... the value is awful. There was nothing that stood out to me or made me want to return. What I wanted was great chicken and great service Tassie is known for it's amazing service and food so maybe it's not their fault that the bar has been set so high... but I truly believe they could do better.
