We dined here as a group of friends. We had the steak, pork and fish and all meals were good quality pub meals. Lovely wait staff who were very friendly and accommodated us when we didn't book in advance on a busy Saturday evening. The cheesecake was good and there is a good choice of tassie wines. What User doesn't like about Riverside Restaurant:
Been coming here for years but this time the food was a let down. Booked a party in for the parma specials and they turned out to be a very small portion of chicken with a spoonful of sauce of choice on a handful of chips. Not worth $15! View all feedback.
I visited this restaurant on a busy Saturday night. The food was good, just as you would expect from a pub meal. It was served quickly and the prices were very reasonable. The standout were the bar and wait staff, they were fantastic! I will definitely be returning.
This restaurant is a great choice for a delicious and affordable meal. The food is fantastic and we ended up going back multiple times. I would definitely recommend this place for a wonderful dining experience with good service and friendly staff.
Enjoyed delicious lunch. Wait staff pleasant and efficient. Prices reasonable Easy to book online. Very good experience
Came here for a meal and was very happy with all our meals and our drinks. Our waitress was very polite and friendly.
Everything seemed a problem on the weekend when we were at the restaurant. I am not exaggerating when I say that each simple question or request we had (normal things like asking for a drink, asking to look at a menu etc) was returned with a flat out, rude no . There were two main staff who lets just say my dog has more customer service skills than them. A red head who seemed to be running this mess and blonde girl. I honestly hope either aren 't the manager here. I have been coming here for years when visiting Launceston and it is usually great. Us and other patrons who wanted to dine here were refused or turned away as they were apparently booked out, even though the restaurant was not even half full and did not get half full the whole time we were there from 5pm-9pm. I booked in advance and the only booking we could get was 7:30pm, I took the booking and asked if anything earlier popped up to please let us know as we have 6 small children with us and wanted to get them fed and in bed early. When i arrived at 5:00pm I asked if there was any chance of eating earlier, even straight away as they had no tables in yet. Answer was no. About an hour later i asked to look at a menu to get organized so we could eat and leave straight away at 7;30. Answer was also no to look at menus, I thought they were joking and laughed as I grabbed a menu from the stand, to my surprise the lady was not joking and said I couldn 't look at the menu as they were all sanitized. I said we have a booking here and wont put the menu back in the stand. Once we finally sat down to order at 7:30, they didn 't come over to us to take our order for what seemed like forever, even though i said we were ready to order, they were not too busy. The poor girl who seemed like the only nice one with some actual customer service skills mucked up our order, which was fine, we didn 't mind but of course it was a problem once we went to pay and the red headed awful girl served us for payment. She acted like she was doing us a favour and it was our fault the order was not correct. There was another lovely girl working behind the bar who seemed nice enough but was under the watchful eye of the red head. May i add that at all times all individuals in our group were polite and respectful to all staff even though we were not being treated the same back. Its not hard to be polite, especially when you work in hospitality. One positive is the rooms were fabulous. Renovated, comfortable and affordable.
