Basin Cafe - Launceston

Nice scenic view. Unfortunately this is where the pleasurable experience ends. Staff careless, and food mediocre at best. Poor customer service. Will not be returning.

I ordered Chocolate Milkshake and I got cold cholcolate milk in steel glass!! I think to hide what is in. When I asked if they brought my order correctly since it wasnt milkshake! The waitress first said usually customer asks for making the shake with ice cream!! I told her when I am here for the first time and you didn't tell me how should I know!! Then she said this is the way we do it without ice cream!!! None sense! We asked for cook with no sugar they didn't have! We asked for kitkat ice cream which was in their menu and they didn't have it as well! Very poor service! Not recommended

Went in at lunchtime as the place looks good and has great views. The service is haphazard and we had to wait 45 minutes for our food (ceaser salad and fish and chips) When they came they arrived 5 minutes apart and the fish and chips were stone cold. As the fish was inedible as so cold I had to send it back. It took another 15 minutes for it to return. When asked they apologised and knocked drinks off the bill but I wouldn’t recommend

Fantastic food, service and view. I would normally not expect much from a cafe/restaurant next to a tourist attraction, but the food was amazing had a beautiful seafood restaurant, sticky beef salad and two of the breakfast items that were also great. Nice waiting staff, which was also very understanding when two at our party ran a tad late. You can also make reservations by pretending what was also very helpful. All in 10/10.

Excellent service, everything tasted great with strong presentation. Also offers a decent view of the canyon.
