Lauder
Lauder
Description
Nestled in Lauder beside the Central Otago Rail Trail, this snug pub is a favorite finish to long rides — sunny garden seating, cold beer and warm, friendly service from new publicans. Standout dishes include steaks and chicken lasagna; clean facilities, a free pool table and dog-friendly vibe add appeal. Some guests report inconsistent seafood and signs of microwave reheating, and dining options in the village are limited, but it remains a welcoming stop for cyclists and travelers.

Stopped for a coffee and the best Afghan Cookie in Central Otago. Lovely people who own the pub. Nice break. Service: 5
We (2 people) had dinner at the pub whilst doing Otago Rail Trail. We were the only people at the restaurant. Hosts were nice but food was pretty dissapointing. We had nachos snapper with chips..snapper was pretty average (I'm guessing it had been frozen there was more crumb than fish) $30 for main meal which was pretty average..they seemed under pressure just preparing 2 meals I could hear the microwave a lot..so maybe defrosting food fast then cooking. Unfortunately no other dinner options in Lauder...so you kind of have to just go with it
Friendly and rustic. Nice wood burner. Furniture just needs improvement. Service: 5
