There’s several Aloha Kitchen locations Excellent Hawaiian food! We had the oxtail soup, the combo of lau lau Kailua pork the Kalbi ribs. The Kalbi ribs was very well seasoned, one of the best I ever tasted. The kailua pork was very moist, it actually come in a bowl with the juices, the juice was great for putting it on the rice. I really liked the Kailua pork usually it is abit dry but not theirs. The oxtail soup wa... View all feedback.
What Christine L doesn't like about Aloha Kitchen Unlv:
We had a couple recommendations to try this place for their breakfast/brunch so we stopped by on our trip to Vegas. We got:-banana pancakes: don't recommend. No bananas on it at all or taste of banana just a whole lot of cream on top-aloha plate: we should've asked for teriyaki on the side but there was way too much teriyaki sauce that it wasn't pleasant to eat-adobo omelette: this was the best thing we ordered and w... If you get there a hour before close they tell you it’s take out only because they close the dining room . I wonder if this is a policy made by management or if it’s just the employees wanting to close early so they can go home early. The Mac salad is mediocre it has no taste the carrots are so fine it feel like hair in your mouth, the kimchi feels almost carbonated it’s weird. The only thing I liked was the sapmassubi , good rice to meat ratio . The kalbi plate was ok, very chewy lots of fatty pieces that weren’t crip .
I ordered a bowl but most had meat options so lady taking the order said they could add Mahi Mahi after telling me no salmon was available(? . I'm not sure what I got but it sure wasn't a bowl. The noodle salad tasted awful, the fish tasted like it was prepared with old oil and the tartar sauce was just plain gross. If I had paid $5 for this it would have been the right value maybe but $18 for this is ludicrous
The food here is delicious! We tried the Aloha Plate and the Tempura Combo, and we also had some egg rolls on the side. The Chicken Katsu was nice and crispy, and the sauce they put over the beef had like a sweet teriyaki flavor that was so good with the white rice. Both of the plates we ordered were $13.99 each and the portion and flavor of the food is worth it. ?The service is good, however, I felt like the atmosphere kinda lacked the island feel. Idk, maybe I'm just expecting them to get some beach and sand wallpaper and plaster it all around the dining room so that I could be surrounded by the ocean. ? Also, It would've been nice if they played some island music in the dining area so that it's not super quiet. Other than that I think the food here is great! So far I can honestly say that this is my favorite place to grab Hawaiian food/bbq in Las Vegas right now.
When I got here, I wasn't sure what to expect. The area was nice, but I'm guessing because it's by/at UNLV.The atmosphere as soon as you walk in is open and modern. We ordered:Kalbi combo: Instead of chicken teriyaki, I substituted it with beef teriyaki. The kalbi was flavorful and so tender. Literally falls off of the bone. The chicken katsu was crispy, and the sauce looked different, but it had the same taste with a twist. Beef teriyaki didn't really care for it. You have the option to have kimchi or macaroni. I went with the classic macaroni.Hawaiian plate: Onolicious. ? I liked that they put the pork lau lau in a separate container. It was so flavorful and juicy. The kalua pig and cabbage was so tender and packed with flavor. They do not skimp on the portions.Loco moco Not the typical hamburger patty with gravy. The patty was moist and had a different flavor to it. It's different but so tasty.Fried shrimp I ordered this because I thought it was the typical breaded fried shrimp that I'm used to. I was surprised it was shrimp tempura. It wasn't bad, but it felt like the frozen ones you could buy at the store and just cook at home. This is one you can skip.Overall, it was a good experience. Customer service was alright, nothing that stood out like they took pride in working there.
High price, small portions.......... flavor was good. I prefer L&L Hawaiian chain in California for it's price and portion size.
