Wow, a real Bob's Big Boy in the valley! Great burgers! We got a Big Boy and the Best Cheeseburger on the Planet. Both had great meat, and both were served hot and fresh with battered french fries. The two meat patties are a combined 5.3 ounces on the BB, and a 5.3 oz. single patty is on the BCotP. That's nearly 1/3 pound! My Big Boy tasted just like I remembered decades ago! What Larry Berg doesn't like about Big Boy:
Just not the place. Big boy costs more than five guys or any other burger place and the burger just can?t compete. I ordered the ?best burger on the planet? but I can tell you it wasn?t even the best I?ve had this week. Recommend to skip it unless you?re just looking to game or relive childhood for a day. A bar and small casino are inside. Wide paper straws were served with our drinks.

It 's a nice enough restaurant, but if you were hoping for EITHER a Bob 's Big Boy or a tavern you 'll likely be disappointed. First the GOOD: The place is clean and the staff was very friendly and fast. Didn 't have to wait to be seated, have our order taken or receive a refill. Both my wife 's burger and my patty-melt tasted good and were cooked properly. Oh and those fries? The fries were GREAT! Not at all greasy, crunchy outside and fluffy inside. Thingsthey could improve: The beer. It 's got tavern right in the name, but they only have FOUR draft beers and those are low-end light beers like Bud, Coors and Ultra (but still cost $6). C 'mon, it 's Vegas, there are multiple breweries inthis city, cranking-out an array of amazing brews. Or, go with something regional/national. Secondly, the menu. It 's not really the Big Boy menu any of us grew-up with. I guess that 's OK, for a generic restaurant. Like I said, theyDID a good job with our two meals, but it 's not Big Boy. No Ruben 's, no cheese-steaks. Didn 't see any of those famous pies or desserts.
I would have to say the one in Indian Springs is a little better , but still not up to par to the old Big Boy's Shoney's of when we were kids . I grew up in the Carolinas and Shoney's was a treat to go to for my Mom and me when we went to Florence , S.C. The last time I went to a Shoney's was in Myrtle Beach , SC and it is still there . It was still good too . I went to the Big Boy's in Indian Springs , NV at the end of the pandemic and it was just okay , but the staffwas very nice . Before that , I remember my son and I going to the Big Boy's in Baker , CA in 2012 on our way back from Big Bear , CA . That one has been closed for years now , but it was cool with all the old memorabilia in it . Thefood there was also good . It is disappointing how the new places are not as good and not even seeming to try . I stopped here the other day on my way back from hiking at Mt Charleston . I had been planning to bring my family here oneday and having some burgers and of course the hot fudge ice cream cake . Maybe even a milk shake . I sat at the bar and ordered the chicken strips and fries . The place was pretty empty to my surprise . The chicken strips were prettygood size , but the batter kept falling off the chicken . They were nothing special and the fries were like regular fries . The side of coleslaw was horrible ! I remember Shoney's having the fat steak fries which would have been muchbetter and I think I remember the one in Baker also having the steak fries . I made a little small talk with the waitress bartender and she said the desserts and shakes are better at Indian Springs . I didn't expect to be told that . So, I guess I will bring the family to that location one day for a little day trip out of town . I was so excited for this place , since it is closer and I heard they were going to build another one near Henderson a while back , but haven'theard anything about that since . I would hope it would maybe be a dedicated restaurant
Food was hot, fresh and good, not too expensive and comparable to other similar places. Expect to spend $15 $20 a person. I would go back, especially during Happy Hour. I hope they open more locations throughout the valley. Also understand that the menu is a scaled down version of an actual Bob's Big Boy full service restaurant, and is perfect for the tavern type of business that this is meant to be.
