**Dining at Oscars: A Mixed Bag of Experiences** Nestled in a prime location overlooking the Firth of Clyde, Oscars offers an inviting atmosphere complemented by lovely views. Diners have praised its afternoon tea and robust breakfast selections, finding delight in ample portions and friendly service. However, concerns about food quality and presentation, including worries over microwaved meals and inconsistent portion sizes, have emerged. Additionally, cleanliness and upkeep of the surrounding area need attention to enhance its charm. While many have enjoyed their visits and plan to return, others express disappointment, urging management to address these issues for a more cohesive dining experience.
During our recent stay of a few nights at the Brisbane House Hotel, we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at Oscars. The restaurant was immaculate, offering a stunning view over the Firth of Clyde. The food was excellent, and there was a great variety on the menu, including a fantastic selection of beer. We particularly loved the breakfast. The staff was very friendly and eager to help. It's also a popular spot among the locals. We would definitely return.
The dining experience was excellent, and we had a fantastic table with a view of the water. The two servers were friendly and efficient, even though they were quite busy. I wanted to request the bill at the end of our meal, but overall, I would definitely come back.
Day trip to largs and we stumbled over this restaurant. chicken silk with chips and rice was delish and tradition fish n chips was great. we have managed to leave a room for dessert and the zimtapfel with eis was our choice. we were not despised, it was heavenly. the personal was great, courteous and attentive, without being intrusive. we have not waited too long for our meal, although the hotel had a high time in its functional suite, which were fed with us at the same time. with my mother, she loved it too. this time chicken parody, suppe, chicken chase and wail for the desert, all were delish and huge part, staff abandoned two filled packings for us to take home.
The staff was great and so friendly, food was lovely and had an amazing experience. Would definitely recommend and come back again
Myself and my boyfriend have been here 7/8 times over the years and have loved it every time. But on the 14th Feb, it seems they were short staffed in the eating area and in the kitchen. The food was slightly burnt, waited a long time for it and we weren't as satisfied as we usually are when we leave Largs.
