Allegria Eatery
Description
**Dining Experience at Allegria Eatery: A Mixed Bag**
Allegria Eatery offers diners a charming seafront ambiance, yet experiences vary significantly. While some guests rave about superb meals—such as perfectly cooked steak, delightful mussels, and exceptional service—others recount disappointing visits marked by overcooked seafood risotto, bland dishes, and rushed service, particularly for those with special needs. Despite the inconsistency, the attentive staff and generous portions are often highlighted as positives. With a mix of extraordinary and lackluster experiences reported, prospective patrons might approach their visit with tempered expectations, hoping for a more uniform dining experience on future visits.

Charming restaurant located in the center of Largs, featuring a delightful menu that offers a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options, though it can be a bit challenging to navigate. The staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful. While the rigatoni pasta was somewhat bland and plain—perhaps my expectations were too high—the vegan spaghetti alla puttanesca was truly outstanding! Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner.

Perfect food and friendly service. I'd have given a 5* overall except that, although a good eclectic selection of music, it was way too loud.
We love Allegria but found today's visit very disappointing. Firstly, when we booked we specifically asked to be sat near the disabled toilet for my wife who has mobility issues. We were sat at the complete opposite end of the restaurant. I didnt say anything as assumed the tables had all been booked but no, by the time we left the table right at the disabled toilet remained empty as were almost all (bar one) of the tables at that end of the restaurant. We normally love their lunch menu but not today. I don't know if its a different chef or what the reason was but the minestrone soup was not to the usual standard, the carbonara was bland and tasteless and the meatball ciabatta was bland and soggy. Also they have clearly tried to save some money as they have reduced the portion size. I don't normally baulk at paying a bit extra for drinks in a restaurant but a bear and a soda water and lime for £8. £4 for soda water and lime???? I suppose I wouldn't have bothered so much had the rest of the issues not happened. We didn't even bother with dessert. Very disappointed particularly as this isn't what we expect from somewhere we would have regarded as one of our favourite until today.
