they are looking for realisation from non-Russian media, from everywhere else. the ukraine is currently going through a completely useless war. more than 5,000 Russians and hundreds of Ukrainian civilians and soldiers have died in war. russia has lost more than 150 panzers, more than 800 light trucks, 27 aircraft and more than 26 helicopters. the young Russian soldiers who were captured do not even know why they are... I and my wife had the 7-course menu with the corresponding weep. presentation was beautiful and the service was very welcoming. quality and tasteful eating. we sat at the window that had a quite pleasant experience with the view of an old but...beautiful building cleverly illuminated while snow fell gracefully. the 7-course menu literally covers the entire a la carte menu!
We ate at the restaurant with a family of four and enjoyed a great service from the waitress. We (adults) took the chef’s recommendation menu. The starter soup was really delicious but the beef of the main was left really rare (ordered medium). When showing...it to the waitress she immediately saw the situation and took the dish back to the kitchen and overall, handled it really well. We had to wait for the second quite long and the kids started to be very tired but the second one was better, when cutting to the beef all liquids came out (meat had not rested obviously) but taste was ok. So after this we felt ok until the desserts came. Double or triple amount of gelatin in the cheesecake filling than needed so I could have played ping pong with that... Dry cake and really uneadible filling, could not finish the dish but we had to leave as kids were too tired by this time. This was our third time in this hotel and every time we have eaten in this restaurant at least once and really enjoyed it before but now, seems the quality has dropped really. Next time, having our ”better” dinner in Lappenranta. Too bad as service was really excellent, would have given 2 points only but the waitress deserved an extra point.
Located in the Holiday Club Spa hotel Saimaa, this is the fine dining spot of the hotel's four restaurants. Well, almost. It is a nice place, but maybe because of the lack of customers the quality level leaves room for improvement. Staff is friendly, but...only one waiter handling the whole restaurant is a bit of a strecth... selection and the quality of the food is ok, but nothing really special. Wine list is quite good. Since the nearest second option is quite far away, one has to settle to this one.
It is a part of the Holiday Club Saimaa hotel's restaurant complex. We had dinner here. The table was reserved in advance. The food is too good to ignore. With many courses, we had more than expected. The waitress was friendly and helpful. We were...a mix of vegetarians and non-veg eaters but she never had problems with the orders. I even wanted to try out Lapponia, suggested by a friend. She arranged for it immediately. Service and ambience is also very good. The restaurant was half full and looked like very popular with Russian tourists. Pricing is slightly on the higher side.
A part of the Holiday Club Saimaa hotel's restaurant complex expectations were not very high. However, this place was a pleasant surprise! Food was good, nothing extraordinary though, but the upset was the very good-humoured service. A very enjoyable evening!
