Visited Laon for a weekend stay with my wife. Saw this old town restaurant on TripAdvisor and was not disappointed. Great food, service and an excellent selection of belgian beers. Ordered a couple of burgers, best i've had. Given a complimentary drink on paying the bill (which was fantastic value). Highly recommended, worth the walk up the 300+ stairs to the old town lol

A great find! Was with out 2 and 4 year old and was great to see them tucking in to chicken and mash. Husband took a burger (great) and I had the duck salad- amazing and prompted me to write this review. Finished off with a coffee and the best chocolate eclair I've ever had!!!

We booked for our Thursday night meal but probably didn’t need to we had a choice of inside or outside opted for a table at the rear to avoid those smoking outside. We loved the interior it’s a Beer enthusiasts dream loads of memorabilia and an impressive beer selection all of it is on if you like Belgian beers you will love it I tried the local brews excellent too, also good wine choices. As for food you can see the menu great selection of burgers I went for andouillette very well cooked! All in all a great choice def worth a detour if you are nearby!

Having been wandering around the streets of this spectacular old town we were in need of somewhere to eat and drink out of the strong sun; 'Le Trappist ' was that place. Right from the start , as soon as we sat down and looked at all the signs and advertisements on the walls, we knew that we were in a place heavily influenced by its Belgian leanings. After a jug of cold water and a couple of Jupiter beers we studied the extensive table mat menus and made our choices my wife went for the 'Escalope de poulet a la crème ' and I chose the, as it turned out , appropriately named 'Burger gourmand '. Having eventually made our way through the suitably generous portions, we finished the meal with a couple of 'Café petit ' black coffees. Altogether a very satisfactory lunch experience, topped of with a complimentary cold shot of pear and cognac liqueur straight from the freezer excellent.
