Was with out 2 and 4 year old and was great to see them tucking in to chicken and mash. Husband took a burger (great) and I had the duck salad- amazing and prompted me to write this review.Finished off with a coffee and the best chocolate eclair I've ever had!!!

Having been wandering around the streets of this spectacular old town we were in need of somewhere to eat and drink out of the strong sun; 'Le Trappist ' was th... read more Having been wandering around the streets of this spectacular old town we were in need of somewhere to eat and drink out of the strong sun; 'Le Trappist ' was that place. Right from the start , as soon as we sat down and looked at all the signs and advertisements on the walls, we knew that we were in a place heavily influenced by its Belgian leanings. After a jug of cold water and a couple of Jupiter beers we studied the extensive table mat menus and made our choices my wife went for the 'Escalope de poulet a la crème ' and I chose the, as it turned out , appropriately named 'Burger gourmand '. Having eventually made our way through the suitably generous portions, we finished the meal with a couple of 'Café petit ' black coffees. Altogether a very satisfactory lunch experience, topped of with a complimentary cold shot of pear and cognac liqueur straight from the freezer excellent.

And the food was absolute... read more We were struggling to find a restaurant, and popped in to this one and were really glad we did! The staff were very kind and friendly. And the food was absolutely fantastic! We loved our meals, but all the food that came out of the kitchen looked superb. The atmosphere and decor really added to the experience.
