Was Mojaquera at El Sol a mag?
This restaurant is part of the El Sol Hotel which was next to our hotel in Lanjaron. You can eat on their outdoor sidewalk terrace or in their inside restaurant. Of course, their ham from Trevelez was absolutely fabulous as was their salmorejo, picadillo soup and lamb in honey sauce. Lots of good, typical Spanish food...thankfully no fish and chips here! This is the Spain of memories. View all feedback.

What jillianarb dislikes about El Sol:
Reasonable place for lunch. But we sat outside and lorries and buses roared by so it was an intrusion. Better to sit inside! Fried cod pieces were good as were the fried aubergines with honey but the grilled vegetables were boring and not recommended. There is a E12 menu Del dia but we did not take it. Worked out for 3 about E9 each with a drink. View all feedback.

Looked like an upmarket place to eat took a table outside on the pavement. Big mistake as you are subjected to traffic sadly bothered by beggars......... However ordered a vegertarian burger, but got a meat one so sent it back untouched. Then was unable to eat the correct vegetarian burger as it was awful, dry, old looking tasteless: My partner had a €28 steak that he had to cook himself! The clumsey waitress wheeled the trolley to our table everthing fell off breaking plates, then cut the steak into strips so it could be easily cooked in a frying pan on a butane gas heater. This was a €28 t-bone steak, full of fat grissel and he left 98% as by the time the meat cooked the vegetable side dishes were cold. Not what you would expect for that price or look of the place. Extreamly disappointing do not go there ! Its oposite 'corte Inglis ' department store)

We were the first dinner patrons that evening at around 9.30pm. Ordered the large salad, aubergine with honey, potatoes bravas, beers and lemonade. Everything came fast and was fresh and delicious. Simple food but done well. At first the waiter seemed a bit brusque but he seemed to loosen up...I find a smile goes a long way in getting better service...total for the dinner was only 26 euro. Really enjoyed it and hope to get back while we are here. We ate on the sidewalk which is pretty narrow but did afford terrific people watching. Seemed to have more vegetarian options here than some other places.

What a lovely friendly place to spend an hour or two! Excellent delicious tapas and very reasonably priced drinks. Will definitely return on our next visit to Lanjaron.
