Leon's Barbeque - Lanham
Leon's Barbeque
Description
A neighborhood BBQ with fiercely divided opinions: when it hits, brisket and jerk chicken are tender and craveable, and sides like buttery spicy corn and mac & cheese please. But quality is inconsistent—dry, reheated or uneven brisket and occasionally overcooked catfish—and service problems recur, from missing sides to rude phone interactions and a no-refund policy. Smoked aroma can be surprisingly absent. Worth a try for BBQ seekers, but go prepared for variability and check your order before leaving.

Don't believe the score you see. They probably scored their own goals. The food was extremely bad. dry chicken, meat with lots of sugar, beans with lots of sugar, disgusting corn, bad
I urge caution when visiting this restaurant; be sure to check your food before leaving. I ordered lunch one day and encountered a disappointing situation. I was enjoying the fresh ribs on top until I discovered the second layer underneath were clearly leftovers from the previous day, despite ordering during lunchtime between noon and 2 PM. When I called to express my concerns, I was met with a dismissive attitude and the call ended abruptly. This is not acceptable business practice! Please, do better and show appreciation for your customers. Remember, we have options, and you are not doing us any favors!
This was the worse brisket I have ever had . It was dry, overcooked and tasted like it was last weeks brisket and reheated today. The girls in the front just had a lack of awareness. In addition, I never even smelled the smoker, first bbq restaurant I went to were I couldn't spell the meat smoking, guess they had Sysco drop off precooked brisket. They charge you $20 for dry brisket with one side of brisket has the most dry meat I ever had and the other side has a big piece of fat. However, your $20 gets you too of the most dry pre-made heated up meat and one side , oh and don't forget the free Cole slaw that they forget to put in your bag. If you are looking for a place with yucky, disgusting and dry food, along with bad customer service you are home. However, if you want yummy tender juice brisket try mission bbq in greenbelt, it is worth the drive. Moreover, when you ask for a refund they tell you they don't do refunds instead you can get a free meal. Why would I get a free meal of disgusting food, I want my hard earned money. So please run run run from the worse bbq I have ever had on my 40 years on this earth.
Tried this place twice (back to back). Got the brisket and catfish. Delicious and tender brisket. Cat fish was slightly over cooked; good flavor but a little on the dry side. Got a side of corn. Was good too with a good slightly spicy and buttery sweet flavor. Collard greens are “meh” and max and cheese was a step above box mac and cheese.
