What User doesn't like about Stain Cafe Lane Cove:
I hope these guys can pull it together. It's a simple cafe menu in a great location should be a lot busier. My wife and I have found the service to be the main issue. We felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff or owner behind the counter. Interactions were weird and awkward, felt stressful watching the chefs and staff sxrsmbling on a day when it just wasn't that busy. View all feedback.
This is now called Mowbray Eatery and is a great place to have breakfast or lunch. Excellent brunch tastes, sit inside or out under the trees/ umbrellas. Good coffee, mushroom toast is excellent as are the fritters. Definitely worth a visit. Great specials and lunch options as well.
This place is always full of kids and families. it is unusual to have such a big play space and to have a library attached to the building. The fruit salad is excellent. They make fresh muffins which are delicious. I think the coffee could be a little stronger but overall it is pretty good and the owners work hard at creating a welcoming atmosphere. Finally it is so nice to have a wheel chair accesable restaurant.
The Mowbray Eatery, formerly known as Stain Cafe, offers high-quality dishes that are more upscale than one might anticipate for a suburban spot. It is a favorite among locals, particularly for weekend brunches and lunches. The prices are reasonable considering the quality and portion size. They have options for kids with straightforward and tasty meals that even picky eaters will enjoy. Additionally, there is a small, fenced-in playground located near the outdoor dining area.
I had a great lunch at Mowbray Eatery with a friend and my dog. It was my dog's first time at a cafe, and the experience was positive. The waiter was friendly and accommodating. The outdoor seating area was lovely. I ordered the poached eggs on toast with avocado and also tried one of the fresh juices, which was fantastic! I will definitely be visiting again soon.
It's incredible how a café located in a car park across from a restroom and substation can be so popular. It seems like Lance Cove is in desperate need of something like this.
