We are a specialty coffee roaster and tea merchant with a rich history dating back to 1837. In 2012, we expanded to include a green bean warehouse, packaging and dispatch center, offices, training room, and a bakery. We also decided to add a bar serving coffee from our vintage 1959 Faema lever espresso machine and our Brew Bar with syphons. Our two cafes serve as a training ground for other independent cafes we supply, where they come for inspiration. Our talented bakers create delicious cakes, and we now offer a new savory menu with fresh Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors. Everything is made in-house with the best ingredients, just like our coffee. Our commitment to quality ensures that everything we serve is top-notch.

At this popular café in Lancaster, coffee aficionados will find themselves in paradise, with expertly brewed coffee that highlights unique flavors. The atmosphere, albeit lively and at times noisy, is complemented by a friendly staff eager to serve. The menu features robust roasted sandwiches, notably the pastrami and Lancashire cheese, and delightful cakes, particularly the lime polenta, which have garnered high praise. Though seating can be uncomfortable and orders may occasionally be mistaken, the overall experience—perfect for casual gatherings or remote work—makes it a must-visit destination for both locals and visitors alike.

After we have seen good reviews on ta, we have here on a Friday lunch break. it seemed very popular, but we had no problems finding a table. there was a selection of four roasted sandwiches (either ciabatta or sourteigbrot) displayed in the cabinet, so I decided. the pastrami and lancashire cheese that were recommended on ta and my wife had ham and lancashire cheese. these came freshly roasted in delicious ciabatta brot probably made in the bakery at the end of the room where you could see that a few people flew away. both combinations were excellent. this excellent lunch was finished by freshly made atkinson coffee, a really extraordinary brew with beautiful strong taste directions and a fruity and nutty folding jacket that ends our lunch on the perfect way. service was very friendly and cheerful. we enjoyed it so much that we found our way to the music room later for another excellent cup coffee.

One of the few places this afternoon with a streamlined in central lancaster we enjoyed pastrami delicacies and cake was a more pleasant part the performance at the wall of a train ride through the Swiss mean man a railway ventilator and he was riveted!. a positive visit

First, the coffee is good, very good each order seems to be grown for them, roasted, ground and perk’d before they are brought to their table. the employees have an ambiente of the hips almost over and over most of their customers, which they...differently like fine indifference. but the coffee and the tee is good, what matters, or? eating great, I mean big, simple, but great. the roasted sandwiches very delicious especially when fully cooked. tipp make sure that they are after well done when they order or they can not get it so well done and assume that this the hips away to eat it. what the cakes, the cakes, especially the lime polenta and, without doubt, one of the best things I ever had with coffee, the coffee does not come until they are ready. No matter, they can always have another cup under the assumption of course they have time for their hands, what seems the case for a large part of the individual clientele in a twin table that seemed in the position, a cup coffee only last and last as they wait for laptops and phones, oblivious for the larger parties to sit on a seat. but maybe they waited for their second cup.

The restaurant offers a few gluten-free cake options. I tried the lime and polenta cake and found it to be delicious. However, there is a possibility of cross contamination as they are prepared in the same kitchen. The staff informed me of this before I purchased the cake.

This restaurant is excellent and very friendly. It's full of character and still has its original features. The cider is nice and I enjoyed the free live music events.
