Was Gary at Amorette a mag?
This was our first visit to Amorette. We had just learned that the restaurant is changing ownership after June 25th. Hope the new owner is able to maintain the same level of quality and service. View all feedback.

What MattG dislikes about Amorette:
The food was quite good, and the cocktails were nice as well. However, the decor is a bit overdone, and the service felt somewhat overbearing. When I dine out, I prefer to feel well taken care of rather than overlooked. However, having the server or host checking in constantly and hovering at every turn can become overwhelming. Perhaps it’s just my perspective, but when the food is delicious and the staff are attenti... View all feedback.

Sommelier recommended the best wine I've ever tasted. Worth every penny and every sip was divine. They can cork it for travel. Genius!

The food was outstanding, as usual. Service was professional yet sanguine all three of us felt very special because of the staff's attentiveness; they were never intrusive. Yes: another winner of a dinner my husband, our friend and I already look forward to the next dining experience at Amorette.

Amorette restaurant offers unique and daring dishes with excellent service, creating a truly extraordinary dining experience that rivals big-city eateries. While the food and cocktails are top-notch, the decor may be a bit excessive for some, and the service can feel intrusive at times. Despite the high quality, the restaurant is criticized for overpriced wine and additional fees. Nonetheless, many customers had amazing experiences and praised the flavors, ambiance, and service. Overall, dining at Amorette is recommended for a special occasion or for those looking for a custom and unforgettable culinary adventure in Lancaster.

We came here for our 10th Anniversary and it could not have been more splendid. I will be raving about this restaurant for quite a while. Everything was exquisite from the moment we walked in, the food, libation, the conversations, the chefs, the flowers and many kind congratulations on our anniversary. The details and great care came even before we stepped in the restaurant with a call of introduction after making the reservation. We were truly made to feel very special on this occasion. The food was phenomenally prepared, plated and well portioned for us. I feel fortunate to experience this kind of cuisine and team here in Lancaster. For today, worth. every. penny. I hope to be back.

Exceptional service. Stunning atmosphere. Pricey, but we took an entire course home, because we were so full after the first 2! Skipped right to dessert!!!

So, a review of our recent trip to Amorette. Two of the four of us arrived earlier than the others. We were greeted enthusiastically at the front and settled into the lounge with a drink and snacks. The lounge is lovely and relaxing and a great place to have a drink and talk. Once everyone arrived and we'd had a cocktail, we were escorted to the chef's table, adjacent to the kitchen. The staff at Amorette is amazing. Our server was wonderful and the sommelier, Thierry, is knowledgeable and friendly and so much fun to listen to. By the end of the meal, we were conversing with the chefs (D&D does bring people together! and having an amazing time. I may have been a little tipsy by the end, as well 10 courses and 8 different wines will do that to a person. I've said it before and I will say it again the food and the service at Amorette are reminiscent of some of the best restaurants I have been to in New York. I do believe it has edged out One if By Land, Two if By Sea as my favorite restaurant at this point. At the same time, the service is not intimidating. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Onto the food! The amuse bouche was the same as on our last visit, which I think made us all very happy. Who could be unhappy with a bonsai full of delicacies? Pickled quail eggs and sesame cones full of goat cheese and blueberries started everything off right. The bread was also the same, as was the butter, both of which were delicious. The bread is light and fluffy and the butter is something I wouldn't mind bathing in. It's just that good. The third course was oysters. I eyed the plate with some trepidation. I do not like oysters at all. It's a texture thing. To me, they are the equivalent of salty snot. Really not something I want to ingest. But, as I have said, I will try anything once (I've had some amazing things and some really disgusting things this way . So, I tried one of the three oysters presented. And it was good. It was better than good. The flavors popped. I ate all three and would have eaten more! The fourth course made me so very happy. I love a good scallop crudo and this was a seared scallop with some delightful flavors. The presentation was fun, too, but what I really loved was the scent. It all just smelled fresh and oceany. The next course was ahi tartare. I was already staring to slow down a little here and realized I needed to pace myself so I could taste all the courses. Every course served is a full serving, not a tiny nibble. The ahi was delicious and I loved how the peanuts added a contrasting texture to the tuna. Pork belly came next. The only pork belly I've had before has been less than stellar and included in a bowl of ramen. This pork belly melted as it hit the tongue. It was accompanied by one of my favorite veggies beets! The beet greens gave a nice contrast as well and the beet ketchup was scrumptious. Onto course seven wagyu tenderloin. The meat was cooked to perfection. I was actually a little sad I could not find space to eat the whole thing. But do not fear it was not wasted others helped me out! It was flavorful and tender and accompanied by a presse of potatoes and truffle whose number of layers was discussed at length. Next was the palate cleanser. I hope Amorette keeps this course for a long while. The sorbet is lovely, but the pop rocks are so much fun! There were two dessert courses and both were incredible. The almond nougatine with ice cream and the chamomile tea panna cotta finished off the meal on a high note. There wasn't a single misstep in the entire meal. Add to that how incredible the staff is and how fantastic the chefs are, I would highly recommend Amorette to anyone. Go to the lounge and enjoy an evening. Order ala carte. Order a tasting menu. Do the chef's table. I don't think you will be disappointed by any of the experiences here.

Driving by Amorette you would never know there is a five star dining EXPERIENCE inside. We went for our anniversary and opted for the a la carte menu (tho next time we will try the prix fixe). From the moment we walked in we were treated with such kindness, respect and exceptional attention. Maybe this says more about me, but I've never been to a place that got me a purse holder and unfolded my napkin for me. It was such a treat. Now onto the food! Such a creative and truly expertly prepared menu. The best food I've had in my life. The Elk was so flavorful and the corn gel was amazing. I was expecting corn but this was better than corn. I tried my husbands boar dish as well and it was also delicious, but I preferred the more gamey taste of my Elk. Plus the presentation! What a show stopper! We ended with the smoked Manhattan donuts which were so light and fluffy. They are served under a smoking dome and when the dome is lifted the smoke wafts up combined with the delicious aromas of the donuts. Again, the presentation was stellar and I wish Yelp would let me add my video! The Violet vibrance was delicious. The only other Violet drink I've had was a Violet sake and this was just incredible. Perfect balance of flavors and not overly sweet. The staff remembered we were there for our anniversary and surprised me with a beautiful rose at the end. And some spike gummies to go! This is definitely a special occasion place. If you have a date to wow, an anniversary to celebrate, business contacts to impress then this is the place.

I was less than impressed with the food offerings at this restaurant, enjoying fewer than half of the dishes. However, the wine sommelier was fantastic and definitely elevated the meal. The bread and butter were decent, though the bread itself was quite dry. The scallop dish was outstanding and cooked to perfection. In contrast, the soft shell crab dish felt overly complicated, and the seaweed foam was the same as that used in the scallop dish. The Lamb Tartare tasted frozen and lacked flavor, although the mustard ice cream was enjoyable. The palate cleanser, a sorbet with pop rocks, seemed more suited for children. The Elk Tenderloin was cooked perfectly, but my plate had an overcooked piece of tenderloin. After three attempts, they finally got it right. The dessert was billed as featuring flavors from a flower garden, but it ended up tasting like dirt. In summary, the tasting menu didn’t live up to our expectations. I would suggest opting for a la carte instead. We were quite disappointed after looking forward to dining here.

This restaurant is truly exceptional. Compared to popular spots in Boston and Philadelphia, the quality and value here far exceed the competition. The dishes are not only delicious but also adventurous, featuring unexpected flavor combinations. The service was outstanding. However, if you're in search of a classic steak, scallops, or roasted Brussels sprouts, this isn't the right place for you. The menu showcases a daring array of options, including mustard ice cream, elk, and smoky whiskey donuts. Overall, dining here offers a truly unique and remarkable experience.

The service was exceptional, with the staff demonstrating great knowledge of the menu and ingredients. The sommelier was especially helpful in guiding us to the perfect wine for our meal. The cuisine is quite innovative, featuring a creative use of foams, gels, and other unique ingredients and techniques. For instance, the scallop dish we ordered was served atop dry ice, creating an impressive vapor effect. While this dining experience had the makings of a five-star outing, there were a few missteps with the dishes that detracted from the overall experience. Each dish is quite elaborate, and I believe they would benefit from simplifying the flavors and focusing more on the core ingredients. For example, the lamb tartare featured a mustard ice cream and was dusted with an olive powder, referred to as "soil." The bold flavors completely overshadowed the taste of the lamb. Had they omitted the olive powder, the dish might have shone. The lobster dish, on the other hand, was prepared perfectly and accompanied by a delightful bed of seaweed and fried rice balls. However, it was topped with a broth heavy on vinegar and a pickled vegetable salad, which completely overwhelmed the delicate flavor of the lobster. A lighter touch here could have transformed it into a great dish. Overall, Amorette has immense potential. I feel it would greatly benefit from emphasizing the primary ingredients of its dishes rather than masking them with overpowering accompaniments. Despite these drawbacks, it's a restaurant worth visiting and experiencing for yourself, as it has much to offer and a few adjustments could easily elevate it to a five-star experience.

The atmosphere and food were quite enjoyable but what really stood out was how the manager went above and beyond to handle an accident that occured during the meal. A real class act!

I've been eager to try this restaurant since it opened, so I was quite disappointed to have missed the chance for a full dining experience. However, I was able to enjoy the Lounge before it closed. My date and I decided to indulge by ordering nearly half of the entire food menu and trying most of the cocktails. We loved everything we tasted! The cocktails that impressed me the most were the Black Smoked Manhattan and the Cachaça Beet Fizz. As for the food, my top three dishes were the Pork Loin Belly, the Morel Fettuccine (which I added Summer Truffle to), and the French Apple Cake. Overall, it was a fun, relaxed, yet elegant experience for both of us. We're sad to see the restaurant close and can only hope that the next one delivers a similarly elevated experience.

I visited the lounge and found it to be very cozy. The service was excellent, and I had my meal there. The type of cuisine was different from what I had anticipated. The price per person was quite affordable, ranging from $1 to $10.

The culinary presentations were simply stunning! Previous reviews had mentioned small portion sizes, so we didn’t have high expectations. I must say, although the portions were not what most people might anticipate for a meal, they were just right, and we left feeling very satisfied. The care, expertise, and creativity of the chef were evident in every dish. While the prices might make Amorette a place we visit for special occasions only, we will definitely be back!
