Reviews - Sub Machine
Reviews summary
Once celebrated for its impressive pastrami sandwiches, recent visits indicate a decline in both portion sizes and quality, leaving some longtime patrons disappointed. The menu offers a range of options, including vegan choices, but the promotion of these selections could improve. Service experiences vary, with some guests encountering unhelpful staff while others praise the management’s exceptional care. The generous toppings on sandwiches are noteworthy, although a few diners note inconsistencies in bread quality. Overall, while the restaurant retains some loyal fans and hidden gems, its recent inconsistencies warrant a careful revisit for newcomers.

I absolutely adore Submachine! In the eight years I've lived in the AV, I haven't come across a sandwich shop quite like it. Every visit feels like a must-do! Today, the guy with the cool glasses was incredibly helpful. He offered fantastic suggestions for different menu items and even gave me a heads-up about the various chips available. His kindness and patience were much appreciated. I ordered the club sandwich wi... View all feedback.
What Will Spoiled dislikes about Sub Machine:
I ordered a large turkey sandwich, a large drink, and a small bag of chips, and my bill ended up being over $20. Unfortunately, the older woman at the register was neither friendly nor accommodating. View all feedback.

I love submachine!! I haven?t found a sandwich place like it anywhere else I haven?t lived in the AV for 8 years. Every time I come there, submachine is A MUST! Today I went there the little dude with the cool glasses was so very helpful, makingsuggestions about different items, giving me heads up about the different chips. He was so kind patient. I get the club withroast beef instead of ham, ?everything? except lettuce onion. The Italian dressing is amazing. They had cantelope honey dewwhich was so perfectly ripe! They were also playing my favorite music, shout out to who?s ever plays it featured PawPaw Rod jenevieve!! Thanks for the great experience everyone.
They have daily specials and always load up the subs! Daily fruits and/ a bag of pickles upon request. Best sandwich shop in town!
I ordered the Giant pastrami sandwich (AKA The Dillinger LOL) and got 3 inches of meat on a 12 inch roll. I?ve been coming here for many many years? but haven?t been for a while. Things have changed. This used to be the best pastrami sandwich in town, but sadly that is no longer the case. John Dillinger would be rolling in his grave!!!
I ordered a 3 foot Party Sub with Double Meat The Kansas City ....OMG !!! Best Party Sub EVER !!! The bread was Tender, Moist, and Ultra Tasty. The Meat was some of the best I have ever tasted. The Cheese (Provolone) was Awesome. Single meat would probably be a little weak on meat for me and my friends. Their Vinegar and Oil Blend was Ultra Delicious...it was Creamy and gave the Sandwich a Perfect Finish. My son said this was a way better Party Sub than our usual chain store party sub. I will always go to The SubMachine for my party subs from now on, and even for a personal sub for myself. The Sticker Says they are the Best in the Valley....and They are Spot On !!!!

I really appreciated the generous amount of toppings—they practically turned my sandwich into a salad! Even the smallest size was quite filling. The sandwich itself was substantial, packed with plenty of veggies and toppings, along with actual vegan deli slices and cheese. The only downside was that the bread was a bit dry, but overall, it was very flavorful. Just a note: the vegan options aren't prominently advertised or displayed. This is an update to my previous review from August 21, 2023.
I recently visited the restaurant hoping to find some of the options mentioned in the reviews, but I was told that they didn’t have any vegan choices available. #Veganuary
They offer a great selection of vegan options, including meat, cheese, and even mayo. The white bread is also vegan, which is a big plus. I really appreciate that they have vegan mayo; many places only provide vegan meat and then ruin it with real cheese, resulting in a disappointing sandwich. However, you won't find that at Sub Machine! "Blah" isn't even in their vocabulary. They have a wide variety of vegan toppings to choose from, so you're sure to find something you’ll love. Don't forget to try the pickles they serve on the side! And if you're a fan of horseradish, you'll adore the Dijon mustard. Just a heads-up: the Italian dressing isn’t vegan, and I learned that the hard way.
I can’t praise this place enough! I ordered a vegan club sub without the bacon since it’s not vegan. They made it with vegan turkey, vegan ham, vegan provolone, vegan mayo, avocado, and all my favorite toppings! They even offer complimentary fresh-cut fruit! From the very first bite, I was in heaven and I genuinely can’t wait to return. The medium sub is definitely large enough to share between two people. Head over here, spend your vegan dollars, and treat yourself to a delicious vegan sub—you won’t regret it!

Sub Machine features daily specials and always packs their subs to the brim! You can also ask for fresh fruit and a side of pickles. It's the top sandwich shop in the area!
The antipasto salad was absolutely delicious all the ingredients were very fresh and I will definitely go back and get some more garlic ranch was also very good
The management and staff at this restaurant are outstanding! The food is not only delicious but the service is top-notch as well. They truly care about their customers' needs. This place is a hidden gem in Antelope Valley!
Worst sandwich I've ever had. haven't been here for years but today was that last day. Bread to meat ratio horrible. All bread no meat. Then they shove the meat at the bottom as if it were a taco. Diced tomatoes and onions not good to me. I asked if there was lettuce on my sandwich she said yes. She sprinkled it on there. This was a club sandwich. Ham ,turkey , bacon , avocado. Subway makes a way better sandwich. At least you can see what they're putting on your sandwich at subway. Desert Deli is hands down better then this place.
