This restaurant have wide selection of all kind of pizzas. We ordered 8 different pizzas and all of them were really good. I recommed to eat at terracce on a nice summer evening. View all feedback.
I rarely like to leave negative/poor reviews as a meal is hardly ever worth a single star... il Castaldo on the other hand changed my opinion. We arrived at around 9pm on a Sunday evening. With a busy dining area I assumed we had stumbled across a hidden gem within the Tuscan hills. After being ignored by the waitress multiple times we went into the kitchen area to see if we could get a table for two. After 20 mins or so we were seated in what I can only describe as a dining area plagued with insects. Feeling uncomfortable we decided to skip starters and just order a pizza each and a carafe of white wine to share. The carafe was luke warm, flat prosecco. My pizza (with salami, onion and wurstel) was nice. My partners however had strips of fat, described on the menu as bacon draped over it. After literally throwing these in our mouths to escape the dining area and moody waitress we asked for the bill. To avoid any unnecessary waiting in THE MOST uncomfortable dining experience of my life we took the bill and paid cash in the kitchen. Staying in a rural location it would have been great to have found a local pizzeria to visit on multiple occasions. I hope the owner can take this constructively for future travellers. I would recommend: Friendly waiting staff (sack the girl) A bug zapper (or a working bulb in what you already have) Fridge for wine Serving correct orders Only keeping bottles open for 2/3 days Originally planning on having a three course meal, bottle of wine and coffee to finish. We ended up with an almost 2 hour ordeal, leaving hungry and dissatisfied.

We 've eaten here a few times over the years with our Vinci friends and service has been questionable at best, sometimes ok, sometimes poor. This time however they 've taken things to a new low! Firstly it was 20 minutes before being asked for a drink. Then we eventually got to order food some 15 minutes after that, and then we were left waiting another 30 minutes before they eventually served my daughter with a pizza! So she ate alone while we waited, and another 30 minutes passed before my wife 's chicken arrived. It was dry and overcooked, and it looked like it had starved to death before being cooked! Basically with hardly any meat on it.... She couldn 't eat it, and asked the waitress to take it away. The waitress didn 't offer any emotion, just lifted the plate and walked away. Unbelievable! My food NEVER did arrive, NEITHER did an apology! No-one came over to explain even though we tried to get the waiters attention on more than one occasion, and after 1 hour and 30 minutes my anger got the better of me and we decided to leave hungry and frustrated! We stood at the entrance for a few minutes waiting for someone to ask what was wrong and could they help. but all we got was a muffled 'sorry ' from the lady serving as she scurried past with plates in her hand. At that point we started to leave. The manager eventually came over to our car, and we told him how bad his service was, and offered to pay for the drink and pizza. He refused and tried to offer a pathetic apology, so we left never to return. It 's 2018 not 1918, and service, food quality and customer expectations have changed. This place needs to learn a massive lesson in how to look after people properly, communicate effectively and how to offer good food and service.
Very quiet place closest Vinci.. Excellent typically Tuscany food and excellent pizza. The price is very low considered the food quality! Recommend!
Found near the village of Fornello, close ish to Vinci, actually on the main road it can be easy to miss. However when you see the terrace part of the restaurant and then the view you know that this place could be good! Very traditional in what you 'd expect from a local italian place great buzz to the place, which usually only gets going about 9pm or 10pm when the locals come in. On a balmy summer evening watching the sun set on the vast lasndscape below, while eating light and delicious pizza with a glass or two of wine or beer and with the buzz of the place, you know why you 've come to Italy! Friendly enough staff we were lucky on the 2 times we were there to get the same waitress, helpful understanding of our lack of italian and funny. It may be a little out of the way, a bit of a drive from most places but that 's part of it 's charm. Parking is a little tricky but you will usually find somewhere near enough to dump the car. Definitely would go back there if in the area again.
