Was melavensis at Chez Crouzil-Combroux a mag?
Did not disappoint, lovely table outside, friendly staff who tried so hard with the language barrier, we had heard about the size of the portions, they were huge, in fact I was full after starter, starter was an asparagus, tomatoe, egg and ham salad, presented beautifully and so tasty, main was confit of chicken with garlic sautéed pots and green beans with a peppercorn sauce to die for, huge creme brûlée, coffee, wi... What Caroline Nguyen dislikes about Chez Crouzil-Combroux:
The staff are so friendly and helpful and thefood is excellent. A very good menu ourvrier but so glad we don't have to work after this gastronomic experience.
We were recommended to this restaurant and we decided to go there for lunch. We descended on the place at about 1-1.15pm as a group of 8 and I must admit the proprietors did look a little concerned about both the time and the number of our group. First piece of advice - if you are going, I would recommend going earlier than we did! Having said that, our late arrival affected neither the quality of the food nor their friendliness. Secondly, leave plenty of time to enjoy the food and make sure that you are hungry when you go! Our meal was the Plat du Jour with no menu but we needn't have worried. A very tasty vegetable soup was followed by a beef bourguignon which was about as succulent and delicious as I have ever tasted. Not to mention the asparagus salad and desserts with beer and wine - all for less than 20 euros. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.
Sumptuous white asparagus salad followed by flavoursome lemon chicken quarters, baked tomatoes and sautéed potatoes and conclusive lemon meringue pie and tongue tingling lime sorbet, wine and beer for less than €20 per head says it all. Pleasant surroundings, good service made it a worthwhile experience. Nearly as good as restaurant next door.

Visited late lunchtime on a Monday afternoon in July. We were warmly greeted and opted for the excellent set menu 15€ for three courses! The restaurant is exceptional value for money and the food is wonderful! Well worth venturing off the beaten path for.
